re: More upsetting taboo news...

$20 mill is a lot to lose, but when put in perspective, it will still have less impact on her financial situation than the $200 for tickets had on my weekly budget. She can lose $20 million and still live well. A few more $100 tickets for me, and they'll be repossessing my car.

O'Donnell is an arrogant and angry person who apparently had some epiphany of sorts when she saw TABOO in the UK (which is too frightening to even contemplate). It is an indication of the level of her mind that she thought this banal, hokey and ultimately dreary excuse for entertainment had any business being on Broadway and would appeal to anyone with any taste. Since she has seen fit to throw her considerable weight in favor of pitiable shows like TABOO and SEUSSICAL, one can only assume she has an extraordinarily immature fan-mentality of theater for a woman her age and show-biz experience, little appreciation of the power of the medium, and a cynical understanding of a Broadway audience. The sooner she decamps from the Great White Way, the better.

For a show that's so dependent on its music, I'm surprised that they didn't release the cast album first -- like JC Superstar, Chess, Evita.

That way maybe it would have gotten some interest from people who started out liking the music.

I must admit that I like the song on the website. But by the time the album comes out I think the show might be closed.

I'm with you BOJ, it's a wonderful CD, heck it would be the hit of the season if she brought it to Broadway!

Damn message boards. lol I hate that I cannot hear tones in voices. I have no idea if Sheekala was being sarcastic or not. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: more upsetting taboo news...
I missed Letterman last night, but Cyndi will be on Ellen's show tomorrow. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: more upsetting taboo news... I assume she sang? Which song did she sing?
I'm listening to the cd now re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: more upsetting taboo news... lol this discussion should really be in a seperate thread, but oh well.
