In many if not in all broadway shows there are songs that really send a meaningful message to you. Which song do you think has the most meaningufl message and why?
Mine is Til We Reach That Day from Ragtime because it still relates to today's world about how America is not as great as it can be and how not everyone is accepting.
I always tend to say "Forget regret or life is yours to miss", I'm a scaredy cat with nerves of jello, so I always tend to miss out, but I never regret it because I know I will dwell on it and miss the next opportunity

"Move On" from Sunday in the Park With George. I've quoted it in my signature.
Move On is a great choice and not to get off topic I love the avatar chrysanthemum

How about boiling it down to onew line? In the Finale of Les Miserables:
"To love another person is to see the face of God"

There are certainly more emotional and more meaningful examples, but a still good one would be "Everything in life is only for now." from Avenue Q.

I really like this from the Color Purple:
"Most of all, I'm thankful for loving who I really am. I'm beautiful, yes I'm beautiful. And I'm here."
Finding your voice/yourself is an incredibly powerful message, I think.
These four spring to mind immediately:
Ain't It Good - Children of Eden
"We've lived so long in dark
I'm almost frightened to believe,
those clearing skies on that glistening horizon;
please tell me my eyes do not deceive me.
Ain't it good,
to smell the morning
in a world washed fresh and clean?
Now the storm has left its warning
and we see a hint of green..."
I am Changing - Dreamgirls
"Look at me...
I am changing,
trying every way I can
I am changing
I'll be better then I am
I'm trying to find a way
To understand, but I need you...
I need a hand..."
I'm Not Afaid of Anything - Songs for a New World
"I'm not afraid of anyone
not a soul can get behind this wall
so let them call
and watch them fall
cos afterall
I'm not afraid..."
I am what I am - La Cage
"I am what I am..."
"Baby, Dream Your Dream" from Sweet Charity.
Heh, I put up a bunch of these quotes around my dorm room. I'll add a couple:
My personal favorite:
"There's a face that we wear in the cold light of day, it's society's mask, it's societies, way and the truth is that it's all a facade...look behind the facade."-Jekyll & Hyde
My second favorite:
"Life's not worth a damn till you can say hey world I am what I am!"-La Cage
"You'll Never Walk Alone"(along w/ pretty much the rest of the song)-Carousel
"No One Is Alone"-Into The Woods
I kinda added something to make it make sense as a quote but:
"[We all need] to dream the impossible dream"-Man of La Mancha
And lots from Rent obviously, but this one I find I quote in a LOT of situations:
"You'll never share real love until you love yourself"
"No Time At All" from Pippin is a song I've often turned to.
"Oh, it's time to start livin'
Time to take a little from this world we're given
Time to take time, cause spring will turn to fall -
In just no time at all!"
Hugs to Jon for my favorite line from Les Miserables
1. Hell, NO. The Color Purple.
2. There is a fine, fine line between love and a waste of your time.(Q)

Christmas Lullaby from Songs for a New World
No One is Alone from Into the Woods
The Christmas Lullaby shows a girl's confidence in a Mary and how she will be an example to the world. I find that very inspiring and I can associate with that song.
No One is alone reminds us of just that. No matter what happens someone will be there. There is so much truth in that.
By the way I love posts like this! They make you think.
A Little Priest - I mean, I'd always struggled with my cannabalism, but this song showed me that it is ok to like trying all those delicious flavours of people...

"To love another person is to see the face of God"
"Everything in life is only for now"
"You've gotta go after the things you want while you're still in your prime"
"How can you leave the past behind when it keeps finding ways to get to your heart? It reaches way down deep and tears you inside out till you're torn apart"
"No day but today"
"Don't dream it, be it"
"Life is really up to you, you must choose what to persue. Set your mind on what to find and there's nothing you can't do"
"Love is worth forgiving for, now I realize everything worth living for is there in his eyes"
"I can't regret what I did for love"
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
Agree with WickedlyPerfect on "Forget regret, or life is yours to miss."
Its not from a song...but the quote from The Music Man that is in my signature has always been a favorite of mine.
"Nothing is too wonderful to be true." DRS
"Careful the things you say/Children will listen".
