Posted: 9/16/04 at 2:09pmThere have been many messages about certain songs that are very moving. Which show do you think is very moving. I'm playing Judas in Godspell right now and I must say,I started crying just reading the ending. I know Les Miz is too but lets try to see the not so obvious.

Hair is definitely one of the most moving shows for me. Moving in a very different way from Parade of course, but moving nonetheless. I directed Hair and played Claude and to this day it is my favorite theatrical experience.
ebonic, get any extra seats to the concert yet?? cmon, i know you wanna

Um...I would love to give a high-tone answer like CAROUSEL or SUNDAY IN THE PARK...
But...ok...I'll admit it...BLOOD BROTHERS wrecked me!

Haha sorry leomax. All the tix I got are taken.
As for Hair--I was in a production and I played Walter. During "Let the Sunshine In" the whole cast was hysterical crying every night.

robbie - that was so cute :)
ebonic - damn on those tickets, but i tried! anyway, great to hear you played Walter - so when i direct it at some point soon, i'll be sure to let you know! but real quick, i wanna ask about the cast crying at the end (Let the Sunshine In) - i can't get into it right now, because i'm already gonna be late for work. but this is one of those endings that is very hard for the Tribe. Claude's death is obviously a very touching one, and i'm sure the cast became VERY close while rehearsing/performing the show, so i know it's emotional. but i must say it's wrong for the cast to cry at the end aside from (IMHO) Berger, Sheila and Jeanie. The Tribe should not feel or know what has happened to Claude at that point and would be carrying on at the rally as planned. We should talk PM about this topic, because I'm so infatuated with the ending of the show...i'm out!

Posted: 9/16/04 at 3:25pmI also think that the ending of "Merrily We Roll Along" is very moving. "Our Time" has sucha a haunting melody and lyrics that prove Sondheim is a songwriting genius.
