I know there have been threads devoted to duets - but I'm looking for any duets for mother/daughter characters where the mother is a mezzo and the daughter is a soprano.
Thanks!

Same here... sorry I can't be of help, but I also need one too.
For an alto II and a soprano II
I think around the same age would be most appropriate. Thanks.

re: specific duet question#2
Posted: 12/20/04 at 9:42pmI believe the characters who sing "Unsuspecting Hearts" from Carrie are mother-daughter figures. "Ohio" from Wonderful Town is sung by sisters but could easily be mother and daughter. "Hear My Song" from Songs for a New World could be translated to a mother-daughter duet.

Not sure what your situation is or the ranges/styles but here are a few that may could be reconfigured:
Don't Follow in my Footsteps from The Goodbye Girl
The Apple Doesn't Fall from The Rink
A Boy Like That/I Have A Love from West Side Story
We Make A Beautiful Pair from Shenandoah

There was a duet in the revival of Into The Woods with the Witch and Rapunzel
I think it was called "Our Little World"
