Posted: 5/13/07 at 1:59pmI totally agree. I absolutely loved Megan's performance. I honestly thought she would be moved up when Celia left. Maybe next time.

Posted: 5/13/07 at 2:30pmI'm just surprised she didn't get better jobs after LITTLE WOMEN. Granted, not many people even bothered seeing the show, but I thought she had one of the most beautiful voices despite it. I was sure that she would be a character like Nessarose in WICKED but then I really realized how Wicked is cast "within the family" so to speak. I was surprised to see her as ensemble in Les Miserables, but I guess that's how show biz works sometimes.

Posted: 5/13/07 at 5:49pmMegan is one of my absolute favorite Broadway performers! When I saw that she was cast in Les Mis as ensemble and Lea had left, I was wondering whether or not she would be given the role. It's not like she isn't a name or anything...I really hope they give it to her if and when Mandy Bruno leaves. She's really amazing.

i have never met her, so I don't know her personally but my MO is because of 2 things:
1) Eponine is such a wonderful character that it actually makes a difference if she blows.
whereas if marius blows or cosette it kinda doesn't matter. their characters are incredibly 2 dimensional anyway. Eponine has such an interesting journey, and one of the most recognizable solos in musical theater history.
2) ms. mcginnis is one of the better actor/singers on broadway. she has heart in her performances, not some presentational acting style that broadway is being saturated with. Her voice is soul searching in its tone and her commitment to her profession seems almost unmatched as she rarely if ever misses a show. (I heard she was the only one not to miss in Little Women, and she hasn't missed a show yet in Les Mis). This type of professionalism is something to be admired in my opinion.
Come on MACK! Give it to her!

Posted: 5/13/07 at 6:24pmYou know...when they hired Mandy Bruno and didnt move Megan into Eponine, I figured Mandy had this spectacular audition and was going to be this amazing Eponine but seriously...she is pretty bad and I have NO idea why they didnt let Megan play the role. She has such a great voice and was a really good Eponine when I saw her

Posted: 5/13/07 at 8:17pmI also adored her performance in Little Women. Her voice is so pure and beautiful. She has a gorgeous soprano, but the girl can belt! I was floored (sp?) when she was cast only in the ensemble. The girl has quite a few Broadway credits. Can't wait to see her in something huge.

Yes!!!!!
Seriously though. Little Women: I don't like Sutton Foster generally so let's not go there, I like Maureen McGovern enough but it was kind of whatever for me, I don't even know who played Amy she annoyed me so much. Jenny Powers as Meg and Megan as Beth were the only people who really impressed me in the show. Megan was everything Beth was supposed to be. The way she sang that song reminded me why to this day Little Women is my favorite book. Jenny Powers was great, and already she got a good job in OF THEE I SING at ENCORES!
Meg needs more to do!
I think I'll write a letter of recommendation. They probably won't care, but I'll do it anyway.
