Move On - my new fave

"Move On" from "Sunday in the Park..." has just beat out "Losing My Mind" as my favorite Sondheim song, ever!

Carolee Carmello and Greg Edelmann sing it so beautifully and so full of gut-wrenching emotion on the "Wall to Wall Sondheim" CD that I searched high and low on iTunes last night for more versions of this song besides this and the original with Bernadette.

Such simple lyrics, but so directly honest.

Ah!

Now this post is one where I can get behind you 100%.

"Move On" is a wonderfully moving song, I tear up everytime I hear it, and this version is really moving.

I still prefer the original overall, but this was one of the great moments in "Wall to Wall Sondheim."

It definitely places in the "Top Ten Songs Guaranteed to Make keatonbynumbers Sob Uncontrollably". Such a beautiful song. I wish I had my Wall to Wall Sondheim CD right now.

I love this song too. Barbara Cook & Malcolm Gets does a phenomenal version on her Mostly Sondheim Live at Carnegie Hall CD.

You can also hear Marin Mazzie and Jason Daniely perform it on their album "Opposite You".

Gorgeous! Plus looking forward to hearing Daniel Evans and Jenna Russel on the London Cast Recording

There's also the fine Barbra Streisand version that is a medley of that and We Do Not Belong Together.

And then there is the Britney dance remix. :)

Oops I did it again. . . mixing up my covers. Britney has a cover of "I Can't Get No Satisfaction". Sorta says the same thing as Move On. . .
