I was thinking, and tell me what you think. How do you think the box office would "react", fans and theatre go-ers who react if shows that have been turned into movie musicals incorporate someone of the stuff they changed.
For instance if Hairspray added: I Can Wait,Ladies Choice, New Girl in Town?
Or if Chicago rewored: We Both Reached For the Gun so the cast would appear as puppets like the movie?
What do you think? Work or no? Or what else could they do?

Although in the movie, you do see Billy controlling them all as puppets at one point - I don't know how well that would relay over to the audience without seeing that. I think if the idea was toyed with, they may be able to get it to work. *shrugs* in theater it seems like all things are possible, so i'm sure it could be pulled off.

It’s actually fairly common for a show to incorporate changes/additions made for the movie into future stage productions. The recent West End revival of Evita included You Must Love Me, the current Grease revival includes the songs written for the movie, the last Sound of Music revival included the movie songs and had Maria sing My Favorite Things with the children as opposed to the Mother Abbess as she did in the original.
Changes wouldn’t be made to shows that are currently running, but that doesn’t mean that the changes won’t be incorporated in future productions.
