Would the movie "The Hours" make
an interesting musical if they
could get Steven Sondheim to do it?
i LOVED Meryl and Julianne in it. Nicole
should not have gotten the Academy Award
for just wearing a terrible nose.
Good idea. Id be great with singing only. Kinda like Caroline but with haunting music (somewhat like Phantom's score). It would make a great operetic show!

Actually, I could really see that. Possibly because Glass's score was such a strong presence in the movie, so I always remember it musically.
It wouldn't really be a Stephen Sondheim-type of show, though. I won't want to be reductive about the powers of the Master, but Sondheim wouldn't be the first person I'd ask to do The Hours.
i think it would make a good show. and sondheim would be a perfect pick. he is good with depressing shows. and nicole won the oscar cause she did wonderful acting in the movie not just for the nose
They'd need three first-rate divas willing to share the stage. Who could do it?
Meryl part -- Patti Lupone?
Julianne Moore part -- Donna Murphy?
Nicole part -- who can do intellectual and British? How about Bernadette, she almost has the nose already (lol).

Please keep Patti LuPone out of anything I have a remote chance of liking. She'll only ruin it for me.
And while I doubt any producer in their right mind would want to pay for 3 top leading ladies, since this is dreamland, anything goes. :)
Why do we have two threads on this topic?

It must be me, I think I'm a thread-killer
