Buzz on the B'way is that Disney will downsize "The King" to make room for Ms. Poppins.
Does this sound crazy to anyone else?
They moved Beauty out for AIDA and lost the Palace
and Beauty is now makin More $ than Ever so that was smart.
But King has made a Mil a week since they started so WHY?
The numbers on ASU are not great so go for the Palace Again
or that beautiful Mark Hellinger and send the Church Goers back to a real Church and the Theatre goers to a Real Theatre like the Hellinger.

Actually, if The Lion King moves, it wouldn't be downsized at all. The production would be exactly the same as what's at the New Amsterdam.

The Church makes me mad. I always walk in there and then remember that it's not a theatre. It looks EXACTLY like one.

Why get mad at the church? It's not their fault. Had the Nederlander Organization not been in haste to sell it, and had waited a mere two-three years for Broadway to start making a recovery, it never would have happened. As it is, the church keeps that building in better shape than its previous owners. I remember staring up at the water damage on the rococco ceiling during the boring parts in Grind.
