It can never be said enough. That is truly one of the only roles in musical theater that no matter who plays the part from now until the end of time, they will ALWAYS be compared to Ellen Greene.

Also...apologies and all due respect to Bernadette, Tyne, Angela, Bette, and (NOT)Roz: Mama Rose will always be Merman to anyone who saw her. All others pale (or in the case of Roz, wither) by comparison.
