Posted: 8/29/05 at 3:12ami think the problem with this in the past, is a TON of classics have been made into musicals but not are not well known. every time someone posted a novel someone else would post that it had been a musical.

i saw a brilliant adaptation of c.s. lewis' the lion, the witch and the wardrobe done in australia some years ago
it was a masterful piece with a massive budget, and was done predominately with giant puppents (think lion king, but take out julie taymor's 'unfinished' puppets and replace them with completely over the top ones of giants and other creatures)
it was a roaring success. pardon the pun (aslan)

Posted: 8/29/05 at 7:29pmDoes anyone know if "Watership Down" by Richard Adams has been made into a musical? I know it was turned into an animated movie, and I thought I heard something, years ago, that a musical was in the works, but never heard anything else. Obviously, if it hasn't, this is my answer to this thread.
