Musicals on Tape

I understand that every musical played on Broadway is recorded on tape and that is held at a library, don't know where.
Could someone fill me in, and are these tapes available to the public for viewing?

the Lincoln Center Library, I believe. But you can't just go in and see them. You have to have special access. How you get that, I don't know, but they aren't available to the public re: Musicals on Tape

oooh luvtheemcee you are wrong! It's at the Lincoln Center Library where you need to call ahead and make an appointement, and you need to have a reason to see it eg. research project, but it's really accesible and it's terrific! I saw John and Jen there. The one downside... you can only see each show once(although you can rewind and fast-forward while you are there).

really? a friend of mine - i don't remember if she'd actually tried or not - but she said that even if you do have a legitimate reason, it's very difficult to get access to them.
be that the case, i'm going! sorry for the confusion.

So can I just say that I missed its broadway run and I just want to see it? How do I make the appointment? And could w e view current shows that are still played on broadway?

You cannot view shows that are on B'way at the moment. Saying that you missed it is not a legitamate reason to see it. My reason was that I was considering directing it.

You shouldn't have too hard a problem, they're very nice. You have to get a libray card first, it's free but takes an extra 10 min. or so, so plan your time accordingly.

And your assumption on whether I've lied before isn't passing judgement? But back to your question - who am I to judge? I'm someone who doesn't think promoting and propragating lies as a means to an end on the internet for all of posterity to read is a good thing. I'm someone who realizes the vast number of young impressional youths that read this board. I'm someone who believes that when you ignore a bad act, then that's the same as condoning the bad act. But, hey, thanks for asking.

I'm from Texas and I went twice. I told them I was researching shows for my theatre in Houston (which was actually true). I signed up for a time and watched a few things.

I actually still am considering directing John and Jen, I just don;t know if I can get permission to do so from my school and use the Aud.

So they have a list somewhere of the shows they have? And if they do anyone know if CARRIE is on that list or SIDE SHOW?

I remember that Carrie was not on the list. It closed before they could get in to record it. There is a video of the first act floating out there somewhere. I'm not sure about Side Show, but I imagine they have it.
