In the New World there is a form, the pastorela, that descends from the auto sacramental of the Middle Ages and usually deals with the birth of Christ. Luis Valdez wrote one in English and Spanish that was televised by PBS, starring Linda Ronstadt. Pastorelas often include song and dance.
Jose-Luis Valenzuela and his Latino Theater Company perform LA VIRGEN DE GUADALUPE, DIOS INANTZIN every year to celebrate the Virgin of Guadalupe's day on December 12. It is in Spanish and incorporates song and dance (and was very good when I saw it years ago). But that's just one of thousands of examples, sacred and secular.
Mexico has also created its own zarzuelas. I assume other Latin American countries have as well.

Lovy el Musical from 1980 - promoted as the first Spanish musical. It was a mixture of all the pop musicals at that time and failed dismally. I saw one of the first performances which seemed to last forever (at least 4 hours) so wasn't really surprised at its demise.
