Spiderman Turn Off The Dark has a noteworthy Brooklyn Bridge set piece as shown on Good Morning America. Did that strike a chord with anyone else? There exists a somewhat dubious history of musicals with that particular landmark. Most notable is the musical Kelly which closed in one night in 1964. The title character jumps from the bridge, the central dramatic moment of the piece.
I know there's at least one other musical with a BB set but can't recall it. Can you name any? Also, what does this mean for Spiderman?

Well in the first movie, the Green Goblin (in less spiky garb...) kidnaps Mary Jane and almost kills her over the Brooklyn Bridge (I assume, i dont feel like checking)

It's not the Bklyn Bridge but the 59th St Bridge that Green Goblin drops MJ from in Spidey 1, hence the famous Roosevelt Island Tram with the kids on board which is also dropped by the Goblin.
Also, I know it was featured in the movie, but was the Brooklyn Brdige used in the Saturday Night Fever musical?

Definitely the GWB Bridge...IN THE HEIGHTS...as in Washington Heights in Manhattan which is up near the GWB Bridge...
Was the Brooklyn Bridge used in ON THE TOWN or was that also the 59th Street Bridge or the GWB?

A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN had several depictions of the bridge. It was designed by Jo Mielziner, who also desgned the above-mentioned KELLY.
The Off-Broadway musical WHAT ABOUT LUV? , based on Murrasy Schisgal's hit play LUV, is set on a bridge in NYC- I don't know if it ever specifies which bridge it is.

Posted: 9/13/10 at 2:45pmThese are all good ones, and some good guesses, but there is one musical I have in mind that features the Brooklyn Bridge in a fairly unsuccessful dramatized sequence. Grrr... it's gonna drive me nutso.
