Frontrowcenter2 I have to STRONGLY disagree with you about your recomendation of "Carousel" the 1993 London cast!!
That recording drives me nuts!!! Johanna Riding is the most annoying person in all of musical theater (besides Ruthie, lockjaw, Henshall and Judy, butter face, Kuhn). Her Julie is like a bull dyke. Katrine Ryan is a HORRIBLE Carrie. Can't take it. I was lucky enough to see both shows and they cannoy be compared. The Lincoln Center cast is far superior
The 94 Lincoln Center Revival recording is the best!! Not only did it mark the debut of Audra McDonald (who won her first Tony as well) but it also has the amazing Sally Murphy as Julie.

Posted: 10/15/06 at 10:19pmI selected the 1993 London CAROUSEL because it is the most complete. I wish Angel had used the exact same lay-out for their Broadway disc but they didn't, choosing to cut dialogue and to eliminated 2/3 of the ballet. As I said it is teh most complete but not the best sung.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
