Awesome line-up of shows! I was going to be in the city a few of the days you are, but they took my school's spring break. We had to push our trip back to June.
Have a great trip

haha of course the wicked one is great, they all are, i just don't know the theater as well as i know the nederlander for example, plus you don't need anyone to tell you that its an awesome seat.
I actually got Premium seats for in the heights last sunday but for $82 because I called an hour before the show, actually when i first called they were premium then 5 minutes later they reduced the price (Row D seat 103 i think) it was awesome.

Enjoy it? I was blown away. I didn't think it could get that much better from when I saw it off broadway over a year ago, but it went from really good to absolutely incredible. Go see it, you will NOT regret it.

Hmmmm, keep talking, I'm almost there ! My only drawback is that I'm not a big fan of hip hop and especially rap music. The heavier it is, the further I stay away ! But I love Latin music, especially salsa !
I wouldn't really call it rap. I'm not a rap fan at all either. What Miranda did was take the music he grew up with and merged it what we commonly associate with showtunes, to create an interesting and unique sound.
In an interview he explained: Tell me about the various styles of music represented:
Oh, it's such a gumbo. I don't think the average theatergoer knows how many different types of Latin music we're representing. They see the broad strokes. They see that Usnavi speaks in hip-hop, and when we hear from the Abuela, we hear Cuban mambo. “Carnaval” is a mix of a Puerto Rican plena and other Mexican types of music; it's like a pan-Latin folk tune. Vanessa sings a Dominican merengue. Every character speaks in their homeland language.
Honestly Lin-Manuel Miranda is a genius, this is truly a great piece of art, and there is so much talent involved (not just the actors, the set is phenomenal) and the songs are quite catchy as well.
I really think you would be doing yourself a disservice to miss this show.
And if you hate it, hey at least now you don't have to wonder what you were missing, but it's hard to imagine anyone hating this show at all.

Macbeth AND South Pacific in one day, followed by Sunday ??? My, sanda you are artsy !!! You have to follow these with XANADU the next day, just for some level !
I think I'd like to see In the Heights ! But, I only have Tuesday and Wednesday open and first I have to make sure about Hairspray ! I really want to see it again, but most importantly, my friend will KILL me if we miss it ! He let ALL our theater planning to me, since I'm the expert and he is just a theatergoer who trusts me, but he specifically told me that, the shows he DEFINITELY wants to see are HAIRSPRAY, RENT and AVENUE Q !!
but you've already seen hairspray, and yeah its a good show but not nearly as invigorating.
Plus, don't you want to see something exciting and new? I bet your friend will like it to.
And you have 2 free days, i mean eating, sleeping, and breathing are totally overrated when you could be seeing broadway shows instead.

I'm sooo with you on the last part, but my friend is not nearly on the same level as us ! He is excited about going to NYC and his attitude is more like Oh, yeah, let's see some shows while there, that would be great ! Even if he'll love ITH, if we see it on the expense of Hairspray, he will rightfully say to me "I followed you to 10 shows YOU picked and you couldn't take me to the ONE show I wanted to see the most ?" But from the look of things, it will be easy to score good Hairspray tix for Tuesday, so even if he wouldn't wanna follow, I could go to ITH alone !
haha okay whatever, either way sounds like you're going to have an amazing trip, and you can always see ith another time, just try to do it while Lin is still in the show (which i assume and hope will be a good deal of time)

Not really...
Hairspray- Tuesday the 8th: ORCH P 18 - 20 PRICE LEVEL 1 ORCHESTRA SEATING RIGHT OF CENTER STAGE RIGHT ORCHESTRA
Those seats are worse than all your other planned seats for other shows.
"I mean, sitting side by side with another man watching Patti LuPone play Rose in GYPSY on Broadway is essentially the equivalent of having hardcore sex." -Wanna Be A Foster.
"Say 'Goody.' Say 'Bubbi.'" ... "That's it. Exactly as if it were 'Goody.' Now I know you're gonna sing 'Goody' this time, but nevertheless..."
Yes, I know, but I've been checking Ticketmaster and it looks like HAIRSPRAY, almost always, has great seats from 3 days before till same day of show ! And also, as a last resort, I think the lottery is not as packed as in other shows !
Schedule edited for the last time, since I was able to grab very good DISCOUNTED HAIRSPRAY row H left Orch seats for that Wednesday !!! So, I'm all set and anxious-free to enjoy the city, without losing time in lines !!! And I still have Tuesday free, for a spur of the moment show, which most probably will be either In The Heights or Spamalot !
Well, I have no interest in seeing Clay in Spamalot, that's for sure ! He is completely unknown outside the US, I've never heard his voice, he is incredibly ugly and I am scared of what I've read about his fans ! The only way I'll choose Spamalot is if I get his understudy ! Updated On: 3/21/08 at 06:28 PM
GMF, definitely see ITH. I saw it last week and I highly recommend it. I'm excited to see you!! I may have grown up a little, though... you'll have to be the judge of that.
