The first play I went to was back in 1984 was "Cuba and His Teddy Bear" with Robert DeNiro, Ralph Macchio and Burt Young.

The back of the Playbill is an ad for the World Trade Center
"The New York Harbor Spectacle Begins At The World Trade Center"

"Like a quarter-mile high crow's nest, the Deck at the WTC is the best beginning of your New York Harbor experience."

It goes on to invite you to sip chowder at the Tall Ships bar and to sample the seafood on the Concourse
Wow.

The first one I saw was Beauty and the Beast, in '96 or something. My most vivid memory of that show was when someone threw a pitchfork into the orchestra pit by accident. I guess that's what a 5or6 year old focuses on. *ponders* Or maybe I was just a strange child.

The first playbill I kept was the Lion King- OBC. I was like 7or8 that time. The only reason I kept the playbill was it was signed by the kid who played young simba.

first play was Peter Pan on bway in 1991 (i was born in '87- you do the math!) Apparently even at that young age my eyes never closed once and I never stopped watching what was going on... I wish i still had that playbill- although I do still have our ticket stubs!!!!!!

I cant remembber the first playbill I kept- maybe Les Mis? my relatives always gave me theirs so its hard to remember.

I think my first live entertainment event I ever attended was this concert for Z100 (Zootopia?)

My first playbill was '42nd Street' revival.

my first musical was Cray For You.

I was 5 i think, and i gave them a standing ovation. And didn;t know what that was at the time.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

My first "playbill" was for 'The Lion King', I got really upset when I got it and it said "stagebill."

I got even more upset when I saw the show and realized it sucked!

First play: CATS

Playbill: CATS

I was about 8, and only somewhat into theatre. I must have known deep down even then that I would become a theatre freak and want it later.

If it's a Showbill, why does it say Stagebill on the cover?
Just wondering..

I saw Grease back in 98 and I still have both the playbill and the ticket. I am the type of person that saves such random things. I found it when I started seeing shows again. Sometimes being a packrat realy does pay off. :)

My first play: Sandy Duncan in Peter Pan (I faintly remember it)
My first play (that I remember seeing): Babes in Toyland

My first Broadway Tour: Crazy for You
My first Broadway Musical: Oklahoma!

My first playbill: Stagebill for Crazy for You
Playbill (in Chicago) for RENT
Showbill (in Chicago) for Ragtime

I wonder why the Lion King uses Showbill in New York. I always thought they created Showbill for other cities so that Playbill could be a New York-thing (I just thought they wanted to be pretentious). Of course, now they use Playbill in Chicago (for the tours), but what's the difference? It seems unecessary to still have Showbill.
