Unless I'm seeing things, I'm very bummed out that my original NYC thread has disappeared. I don't recall posting anything objectionable. Perhaps I overshared something from one of the shows? Was it my posting of the stage door pictures? (I don't know how to post multiple pics in one sitting.) I'm a bit sad now, but here's a minimized version of the shows I've seen so far. Later this afternoon, I see "Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike". CHICAGO: I loved the show, of course. Adam Pascal and Christine Pedi were amazing. Adam sustained "the......gun" for a very, very long time. Christine displayed her own brand of humor with the role of "Mama". Overall, the cast was awesome. THE NANCE: This was a very funny and moving show. I laughed and I cried. Nathan Lane was superb in his role as the troubled theatre person, who cannot sustain a relationship with a young man who actually cares for him. Jonny Orsini was incredible as his character tried to find his way into the heart of Chauncey Miles (Nathan Lane). His brief nude scene was daring of him. Cady Huffman was funny as the liberal, possibly communist stripper. I loved the show. At one point in the show, there was a sustained cell phone noise coming from possibly the middle mezzanine section. Ned and Chauncey were in a tender embrace and had to sustain that embrace until the noise was silenced. I really liked this show. PIPPIN: This was an amazing and incredible theatrical experience. The sets, costumes...everything about it was visually stimulating. In the first scenes, there were so many things happening that it was difficult to keep up and focus on things. Matthew Thomas James and the rest of the cast were on fire. Playing "Pippin", he was all over the place, with his singing and movements. His energy was not to believed. Patina Miller was fantasic and slightly threatening as Leading Player...sort of like the ringmaster of a circus. Andrea Martin will win her Tony...there is no doubt about it. She received a Standing Ovation for playing such a captivating character. The things she did onstage left me in awe! I hope "Pippin" tours eventually. There are a few sensual scenes. I forget what the suggested age limit is, but those scenes are quite sensual. I LOVED this show. I'll post my stage door pics in a little while. Thanks...RC in midtown Manhattan P.S. I've included a link to my pictures thru Photobucket. I'll post them one by one if they don't show up. Also, I saw a BWW member at Pippin. It was LuPone 76. He was really nice.
Stage Door Pics
Wow, this is the first time I try this. It did work. Anyway... Michael Cusumano was quite nice and we chatted for a bit about Texas. Christine Pedi was lovely and friendly. She mentioned that she would be doing a Tony gig in Times Square on Tony day. Andrea Burns (The Nance) played a funny character. This was the first time I had seen her. She reminds me a lot of Bianca Marroquin. Matthew Thomas James was at the stage door with a fellow cast member when I asked him for a picture. He was very gracious and nice. He even took the picture. Orion Griffiths was the first cast member out of the stage door. He was quite captivating in person....very nice to all the fans and chatted with them as he went down the line. I was pleasantly surprised to see Charlotte at the stage door, alongside her husband Terrance Mann. Lastly, Patina Miller was lovely and gracious to her fans. I absolutely recommend "Pippin" to everyone! RC in downtown Manhattan. I have to go eat some breakfast now.

I'm sorry this happened to your thread. It was a bright spot! Glad to see that you're not deterred!
I don't understand why your thread would have been deleted, either, RC. Perhaps it was just a glitch? I love your pictures! Patina, Charlotte and Matthew! Will you still be in the city tonight? Exciting day to be in NYC.
Glad to hear you are having a great time, glad the weather cleared up too!
(Happy you loved Pippin!)

How are you all seeing the pictures? I only get photo bucket's main page. Do I have to have a log in or some sort of special access?
I didn't look at the pix.
Unless Patti LuPone FANatic takes the time to embed them from PhotoBucket into these posts, you will need to have cookies enabled to see them via the link.
PLF, another option might be to upload your future photos to the "Fan Photos" section of this board, and then create a link to there. That would solve any issue for folks (like me) who set up their cookies with an "Exceptions" rule.
I'll try that John Adams. I haven't used that section in a long time. Just got back from Greenwich Village. I think I'm going to the Stonewall Inn to watch the Tonys. If you happen to be there and see me, say "hi" to me. You guys may recognize me, since I normally post my real picture. I'm still recovering from the fabulousness that was "Pippin." Also, Orion Griffiths was awesome, in so many ways. I didn't mention that his thighs have a fan base here. Yes Tink. I'll be here one mo' night. P.S. I tried doing the Fan Fotos thing, but it wasn't working properly. I'll do them one by one.
Patina Miller (Leading Player) "Pippin"
Charlotte D'Amboise (Fastrada) "Pippin"
Orion Griffiths: ensemble: "Pippin" swooon.

Michael Cusumano: The Jury: "Chicago"
Christine Pedi as "Mamma Morton" in "Chicago"

with Andrea Burns: Carmen: "The Nance"
Is it possible that the other thread was deleted because of a photo taken inside one of the theatres, which is not allowed? BWW might not want to get in trouble for having illegal photos on their website. Just a thought.
Anyhow, I am glad that you are enjoying your trip and hope that the rest of it is also lots of fun!
Thanks..you do have a point. Just to be on the safe side, I've removed the picture from inside the Ambassador Theatre. I do have a couple of anecdotes. While I was waiting at the Lyceum Theatre stage door at 46th St., I noticed that Bryan Batt was inside. Later when I left the theatre to go back to my hotel on 49th Street, there was Bryan Batt walking past where I am staying at, the Mayfair Hotel. What a coincidence. Also, after "Pippin", I was walking down 8th Avenue going north around 47th Avenue when I noticed an ice cream truck. I noticed a familiar person, to me. He was in Days of Our Lives and was the understudy to Hugh Jackman in "Boy From Oz". I haven't cheated and googled it yet. Also, I committed a MAJOR faux pas during the performance of "The Nance." Close to the end of the play, I heard a cell phone ringing a particular tune...the theme song to "Bewitched". To my utter embarrassment, it was coming from my backpack. I was thoroughly mortified and quickly eliminated the noise. I felt so bad afterwards. I'll never do that again, that's for sure. Getting ready to go see "Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike". Later folks. RC on 49th Avenue.

Thank you for posting the picture of Charlotte d'Amboise. Whenever I see a show that she's appearing in, the understudy goes on in her place. It's good to see what she looks like.
I remember now...the guy I saw at the ice cream truck. It was Kevin Spirtas. The ice cream guy was semi muscular. Anyway...I just returned from "Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike." It was a good play. I loved David Hyde Pierce. I had no idea his character was gay. Billy Magnussen played a convincing "vacant in the head" person. During the first act, I loathed Sigourney Weaver's character. But, I warmed up to her when certain events occurred that made her more sympathetic. Ms. Nielsen's character was my favorite. One of my fave lines from the show: "If everyone took ____ (forgot the name of the drug), then Chekov wouldn't have anything to write about." (said by Vanya). Shalita Grant was funny as the sometimes voodoo practitioner. It was a good play, overall. I'm eating lunch/dinner pretty soon, so I can head out to the Stonewall Inn for their Tony show. Although I love NYC, there's no place like home (Austin, Texas). Roman at the Mayfair in NYC.

There was major trollery going on last night. Your thread may have been an innocent bystander.
Glad you're enjoying your trip.
I don't know why, But I can still see your photos in your first link. They play as a slide show. Sounds like you are having a fabulous trip. Enjoy your Tony viewing party. I will be watching at home, alone, because my family happens to be out of town right now. No theater buddies here. Fine with me! I think your thread may have been deleted because someone who had posted in it was deleted.
^ LOL! Dollypop! I love Charlotte and Terrance.
