I just don't understand why the semi-colon isn't used with same ferocity.
Other punctuation marks need love, too!

That more semi-colon...and even the QWERTY designer tried to save it by putting it as a regular key - and the colon (:), which is used more, needs the SHIFT key to operate.

Off topic: How did this get thread jacked from rent, to dreamgirld to puncuation?

Posted: 10/11/05 at 2:26amOh okay, are they in the movie? I'm more excited about seeing Adam Fleming and Will then the rest of the cast, at least i know what the principles look like. is gordon's part expanded in the movie? or is it like in the musical? same for the "will i" part. Is there sheet music available for the Will I solo. Just the first little solo part? thanks.

Another on topic response: The only thing wrong with your review is that it isn't a review.
"omg lol i luv the new soundtrack everyone soundz grate" is not a review.
Reviews contrast the positives and negatives of something. They are not mindless drab.
"I enjoyed Jesse Martin much more on this version, but in my opinion, Idina sounded much clearer on the OBCR."

Posted: 10/11/05 at 2:47pmYes, the excessive punctuation marks is quite obnoxious and demeaning. If you want people to respect your opinion and reviews, you should probably make some attempt to sound a little less...Jr. High. No offense if you are, but you get the point--hopefully.

Posted: 10/22/05 at 12:56pmI find the new Rent Soundtrack slightly disturbing at times. Mabey my ears need checking or I just got the one CD that didn't burn just right, but in I'll Cover You (reprise) I swear I can hear the microphone or whatever recording device used being fiddled with or breathed on. The voices and music are AMAZING, but the sound seems so...canned in comparison to the orginal recording. It's almost as though it were recorded with a home recording system where sound editing couldn't be done. *shrug* It also bothers me to no end that in Goodbye Love they can't sing together on the line, "I can't believe this is goodbye." I love the new Rent soundtrack, but I don't think it'll ever get the ammount of listening time the orginal recording.

I miss that high female voice (is it Fredi Walker or Gwen Stewart?) singing "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" on "I'll Cover You (Reprise)". Only Jesse sings it on the soundtrack and it really doesn't have the same effect.
I also miss the high female voice singing on the last: "We're not gonna pay *RENT*! on the title song. I'm guessing this was also Fredi or Gwen Stewart but I sorely miss those touches.
