NATHAN LANE IN HAIRSPRAY AS EDNA....i'm not excited at all....

Before the show came out Nathan did a demo tape with a few others and played Edna!!! Here's a myspace that has Nathan singing Timeless to Me (with himself :) ) and Welcome to the 60s (with someone......I dont know who she is!)

I'm happy Harvey originated the role (as much as I love hearing Nathan sing these, and he sounds like he coulda been a great Edna!)

I love Nathan, but his voice just isn't as distinctive as Harvey's for the role. Thanks for the notice though. I had not idea this was ever a possibility.

EDIT: I love in "Timeless to Me" how he sings a duet with himself.

I thought Nathan was good but not as good as Harvey!

Nathan is pretty good, but nowhere near Harvey

I didnt even listen. Though I do enjoy Nathan.


EDIT: It was very enjoyable. He would very good in the role. And who ever the girl is doesnt sound like anyone Ive ever heard sing it. Must be who ever they used in workshops.

Who IS the girl? She is good?

She's much different than what I've heard but I do like it. She's more...boppity?

Nathan as edna? no. just heard it. no.
