Seriously, I've had the demo with Harvey for a loooooooong time and I have no clue who that girl was. I thought it was Shoshana for a while, but it's not. Does anyone have any clue who she is?

I was just going to say, I have the original sampler CD that I got in the mail back in 2003 and it has this amazing mystery girl singing "Welcome to the 60s" with Harvey--is that the demo you're talking about? It almost sounds identical to the Nathan Lane version, except for Harvey's voice. (I could upload that if anyone is interested, but more than anything I'm getting really curious about just who this girl is!)

Yes, the track is the exact same session as the demo CD with Harvey. The demo with Harvey, however, is extended. But it's the same girl. Annie Golden? She must have been 50 when she recorded it. Sure doesn't sound like her.

The one with Nathan Lane definitely is NOT Annie Golden... but she did record a demo, I think that's the one SDav 10495 and bjivie2 are talking about...

Annie Golden sang "Good Morning, Baltimore" on the demo. I'm wondering who the "Welcome to the 60's" girl is. It's this same girl that's with Nathan Lane.

Yeah... damnnn. I happen to like her sound much better than Marissa or even my recent favorite, Shannon (just in my opinion). Great soulful sound.

the girl on the demo who sang good moring balt. doesnt sound like the one in welcome to the 60's. i am glad they never gave the part to nathan. he just sounds like he is standing there screaming. i can only imagine him as pseduleous in drag. the girl is quite good...but i just don't think it works for the part...unless they had a differnt character singing it originally. I like the fast paced version though.

Awhile back, I remember reading an article about Mr. Shaiman asking Nathan to play Edna for his birthday and Nathan said he could do it for two weeks! You never know!

What about John Goodman? He hasn't been back to Broadway in years!

When I saw this thread title I thought Nathan was going to actually be playing Edna.

Anyway, this Josie Aiello is pretty incredible. They ought to get her into the Broadway company in some capacity.
