Their recommendation in a thread about Laurents is illusory of said arrogance.
"...illusory of..."?
I think you mean "illustrates."
To say that mentioning the two books is "illusory of arrogance" means any perceived arrogance is an illusion.
I am not arrogant...at least not compared to people who misuse highfalutin' words. Now THAT'S arrogant!
Arthur's book suffer from a lack of coherence and an (arrogant) egomania that comes from deep inside him, where the worms crawl about.
But to say they're more entertaining than Maureen Stapleton's HELL OF A LIFE...I don't think even Arthur would claim that.
Maureen's book is the ultimate theatrical memoir.
Hell of a Life (Hardcover) by Maureen Stapleton

Message corrected... that's what I get for making last minute changes with more purple prose!
A Good Nightmare Comes So Rarely,

P.S. PalJoey - perhaps I shall read it again. I was not as big a fan of hers as I am now, now that I've seen and understood INTERIORS, which has become a favorite film, dour as it may be.
