Still no singing... but a lot more footage and even a little bit of Young Guido's acting.
Love it.
The 2nd trailer has to be next...

"I love this score."
Too bad you won't be hearing most of it!

Posted: 10/20/09 at 2:15amWow, the film looks stunning and incredibly sophisticated. It also is clearly going back to 8 1/2, I guess much in the way that Marshall paid homage to Fosse's CABARET in CHICAGO. I seriously can't wait, I'll be so happy if this turns out to be as good as it looks. I'm excited for the new trailer, though disappointed they pushed back the release date.

It looks like a reel of trims from the fantasy sequences of ALL THAT JAZZ.

~ it looks epic but with the butchering the score took it's not the NINE i know and love so count me as one who is not entirely enthusiastic about this cinematic re-imagining of one of my favorite musicals.
i'm also in vehement disagreement over how rob marshall sees movie musicals and approaches them. it's as if he's almost embarrased of the genre and the only way he can justify the singing and dancing in a film is to "excuse it" as a figment of someone's daydreams and/or imagination. i feel it's a cop out and the concept is old and tired. let a musical *be* a musical for crap's sake!

It's not the "only way" to do it, but it's Rob Marshall's trademark and he uses it in mostly appropriate ways.
Busby Berkley had his trademark way to direct a musical, Adam Shankman seems to have his. Let Rob have his thing.

~ yeah, well if you pardon the expression his "trademark" sucks.
especially when it caused a good chunk of that beautiful score to be dropped as if it didn't even exist.

Love the footage. Good to see it without the ET logo planted all over it.
Apparently there was another preview screening in NYC tonight, anyone go?
