re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

It's WIDELY expected to be Wedding Singer.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Maybe the long-awaited revival of A Chorus Line?

What's going into the Hilton? The Music Box?
Question: Will Esparza win for The Homecoming? BobbyBubby: I hope so. If only for the mental health of many people on this board.

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

The Hilton is just too damned big for its own good.

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

AChorus Line is NOT this season.

Drowsy Chaperone has been rumored for The Music Box.

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

my guesses:

hirschfeld: wedding singer
music box: drowsy chaperone
hilton: either mary poppins or billy elliot

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

Mary Poppins is going into the New Amsterdam with The Lion King transferring to the Minskoff.
#13

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

Well Poppins is confirmed for The New Amsterdam...Billy Elliot i doubt will open on Broadway for a while if at all.

Id say The Wedding Singer is a safe bet to replace Sweet Chairty

As for The Hilton i dont know..Dr Doolittle wants to come in and that needs quite a large theatre...A Chrous Line wouldnt fill it...Bring back 42nd Street!

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

where is tarzan headed, did i miss that? i thought the palace after all shook up? yes, no?

also, am i the only one that thinks a chorus line will wait to go into the shubert. either buying out spam's producers to move, or just waiting? or is that ridiculous? i don't know.

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

And Chorus Line doesn't have a hope in hell of getting the Shubert I would say.

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

I doubt Spamalot's going to move. I'd say Spamalot would move to The Hilton (so there are more seats), but who's to say how popular it's going to be once the stars leave. It could end up being like The Producers when Matthew and Nathan left and sales could go into the toilet. Besides, I think A Chorus Line needs to go into an intimate space, or the story could get lost. I, personally, don't want the revival of Chorus Line to get blown all out of proportion and make it into this big glossy mess.

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

Drowsy Chaperone will NOT get the Music Box, as Festen is holding onto it. Heard that Drowsy is waiting for another theatre to open up, and weighing other options.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

Just over 1800 seats.

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

Geez! Do you need a telescope to see from the back of the theatre? I am hoping Billy Elliot come to B'Way someday soon. The movie was amazing. I don't think the Hilton would stay open long enough for it though.

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

Spamalot wont move - why mess up something that works?

Id say A chorus line could get The Luntt Fortainne, Beauty & The Beast has been 60-70% for quite a while in audiences and the ticket average is genrally around $60, plus if Little Mermaid opens next year I dont think Disney will flog 5 musicals.

re: NEXT UP AT THE HIRSHFELD?

WEDDING SINGER will definitely be taking the Hirschfeld.
