This is in a conservative area of NJ, so I'm not surprised they're attempting to cancel it. It sounds like the BOE thought with it being a HS edition that it wouldn't appear so "gay" and not have any of the language saying so. Kudos to all that spoke up about it. I hope they get sold-out audiences for this production.

Posted: 10/14/22 at 2:56pmI immediately thought of Angie’s response to Emma thinking she was the understudy in the original production of Chicago. I can’t remember if there were other expletives in the show which they could use as an excuse, but that’s a big moment. They should probably release a high school version.

Dee Dee also says "Well, what the ****?" after The Lady's Improving when the principal tells her that "not charging someone for an apology is not a selfless act." But, I believe they ARE doing the soon-to-be-released HS edition, per the article in the first post.
