OK, I'm on another continent and won't be seeing this Encores! presentation. So who has been and what are your thoughts on the show/performances. I've seen the other post on those that went to the dress run...but now that it has opened?

I saw it last night and loved it! So much fun...you can't help but tap your way out of the theatre and down the street.
Don't miss this Eug!

YAY!!! I can't wait for your thoughts. It's a really stupid (yet funny and silly) book with an amazing score! The overture alone is worth the price of admission.
Enjoy!

Posted: 5/9/08 at 5:39pmI would go see it just to watch Mara Davi perform again. Unfortunately I don't have any time this week so I won't make it.

I wouldn't say that "No, No, Nanette" has a stupid book! It has an innocent book, a charming book, a book from it's era (although re-written by Burt Shevelove in the '70's). I wouldn't hesitate to say a silly book. But, it's silly in the way that cotton-candy is silly. There is no "nutrition" there, just enjoyment.
Now, I would say that "Crazy For You" has a stupid book.

I just got home from seeing it, and I absolutely adored it, the cast was just perfect (just didnt like Jimmy) Michael Beresse was out of the world, without a doubt the greatest performance I have seen him in to date.
See this if you can, just do it!

Have fun. I wish I could see it too. Such a great cast. Maybe someone out here will put on the show someday soon. They can always come out here and do an encore performance if they want to.

Posted: 5/10/08 at 10:41pmI was at today's matinee and absolutely adored it! I wanted to skip home! A glorious production! Sandy Duncan and Beth Leavel were especially wonderful. Sandy Duncan's beautiful, beaming smile at the curtain call warmed my heart! She looked so happy! This show should move to Broadway!

Yeah it was packed today. Very entertaining production.
Public service announcement: if you have a choice to sit far left or far right, sit far right--much more stuff happens upstage left than upstage right (as I learned the hard way!). I would definitely suggest the front side gallery for the best $10 student seats.
