I AM A HUUUUGE FAN...and im a caucasian!!!!!! Id love to see Tonya Pinkins play anything nontraditional, and loved Audra McDonald in her nontraditional role in carousel.

Well, I just need to point out that nontraditional casting only works if you're not casting against a main theme of a show. Casting a 30-something in Follies wouldn't work obviously. Casting a white girl as Effie wouldn't work. But casting a black Velma Kelly, or a white Gypsy Queen would work fine.

Well The Weissler's are bringing a black Roxie early 06. And this never really happens. So I like their being creative.

Yeah, who knows why they've only cast Velma as black. Roxie's usually just been a blonde. (for the most part)
