I know this is a complete long shot, but did anyone go there and possibly get pictures or anything of the sort?
...if not, did anyone just go there?
And, hi, I'm a long time lurker... I've pretty much never posted. Ever.
I went and thoroughly enjoyed it, but I didn't take photos, nor did I see any being taken.
I always knew Ben Folds music would be PERFECT for a musical
The show was fantastic. I was front row, dead center, so I was pretty psyched.
And yeah, I didn't see anything being taken either, but the girl next to me was taking a video and I didn't notice, so I'm not going to take my own word for it. Unfortunately, that video was lost some how.
CQT, it was a concert... a Broadway sings Ben Folds kind of thing, but I thought the same thing.
oh. damn.
well good, that leaves ME to be able to develop the musical
Speaking of which, CQT, your avatar was great that night. Ben Folds is perfectly suited for his voice.
The box office people were probably in charge of taking pictures.
Crazy bitch!
And yes, Michael sang AND played piano and it was gorgeous.
Editing it?
Hello, illegal.

FAQ #21
21. Is there a video of (enter show name here) anywhere?
That video is called a "bootleg". I know, it sounds illegal, it looks illegal, it MUST be illegal. And it is. Bootlegs shouldn't be discussed openly on the boards, but if you would like to private message a user that has hinted that they have access to such videos, you are welcome to contact them.
Message from Rob:
"Just a reminder, as myself and the other moderators have had to delete multiple discussions on the subject over the past few weeks.
Linking to bootlegs, discussing bootlegs, discussing where to find bootlegs, and asking for bootlegs are all against our board guidelines. Please keep them off of the message board, bootlegs are illegal."

Eek! They'd better never use Folds in a jukebox musical. He's expressed interest in writing an actual score before; let's hope for that, instead.
...did I mention I'm new?
Well, whoops.
Do I edit it and make it go away or does it really not matter and it will just be deleted?
I agree, Plum. This concert was my first real exposure to his music, though I assume I've probably heard a few songs here and there without knowing whose they were, but right away, I was like "wow, he should write for theater."
Me too, me too. I got the tickets early though and started listening to his music before hand so I knew it and knew most of the songs they sang. Now, it's constantly stuck in my head, (seriously, Zak and Sara has been in my head forever) but that's okay. But this was, officially, what got me into the music of Ben Folds.
Micheal singing AND playing the piano!?!!?!?!?!
AAAAAAH
*dies and goes to heaven*
Shall we revive you?
Seriously, he was excellent. As was Kevin Cahoon.
is he back to his lovely normal hair color? or is he still drop-dead-gorgeous blonde?
I don't like Kevin Cahoon a lot. I mean, I don't hate him, but I hated the way he did that song. That's pretty much my favorite Ben Folds song, though.
I, being the dork that I am, was ecstatic over seeing Anthony again. I had met him earlier at the Broadway Cares Flea Market and he talked to us after the show. Then again, I'm a teenaged girl, so I guess that's part of it.
He's brunette again, CQT. I think there are a few pics floating around of him from the Flea Market.
Kevin's a very... stylized performer. Versatile as anything, though. I absolutely love him.
I thought Anthony and Felicia Finley sounded REALLY good together. I didn't expect their vocal tones to mesh nearly as well as they did.
Actually, Michael sang 2 songs, but only accompanied himself for one. And his hair is brown but in the sun, it had kind of a reddish tint to it. I really liked it. I was going to mention it before, but was worried I would sound shallow.
I'd only heard the occasional Ben Folds song when the videos used to come up on VH1. Going to the concert was a last minute decision and nearly didn't happen, so I couldn't exactly become familiar with his music in the walk between the flea market and the venue. It was interesting. I was saying afterwards that I feel like if I went to listen to them now, I'd end up liking the concert versions more and feel guilty. :-P
I mean, I can see Kevin going far in a lot of things, just not performing Ben Folds music.
It really amused me that in the duet they did, there was the lyric, "Visions of pills that put you in a loving trance that make it possible for all white boys to dance." It made it better that you could tell Felicia was amused by that, too.
But skittles, it was a pretty damned long walk. Complete with apparating actors.
I don't think he expects to make a career of covering Ben Folds, so I wouldn't worry... =P
Oh, and orangeskittles, I feel the same way for most of them. I listened to the "The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner" album, which they did two songs from. I haven't listened to anything I didn't listen to before the concert other than "Zak and Sara" because I wanted to make sure I heard the "white boy" bit right, and it all kind of snowballed from there.
And I totally think Felicia and Anthony did better at it, but I shouldn't say that because I only heard it once.
You should have been singing Ben Folds songs to me then!
*apparates*
*dances up*
Seriously, he needs a herald or something to announce his approach.
I liked Kevin. I already love him for various reasons, so it was fun to see him in his "rock star" persona for once.
