NYT obituary of Warren Manzi (Perfect Crime)

I don't understand why Margalit Fox's obituary of Warren Manzi turned into a story about Catherine Russell. Is Margalit Fox a close personal friend of Catherine Russell? Warren Manzi, the writer of a terrible play (Perfect Crime) died and all the obituary does is talk about is Catherine Russell's upcoming wedding and serve as a free advertisement for a completely unintelligible play. Did anyone even fact check this? Russell plays a "sexy" psychiatrist? Is that from her press release? Reading this obituary made me sick. Is this what the New York Times has become? Shameful.

I'm thinking it's not an obituary, but an article. Sure, the story is because he has passed, but it's about him, his show, etc. (I don't disagree, however, it's a little heavy on Catherine Russel, but discusses several aspects of the production.  NYT obituary of Warren Manzi (Perfect Crime)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Agreed! If they wanted to print an article, it shouldn't have been in the obituary section. Sad that they had to focus on Catherine Russell and not on the poor guy who died.
