Personally, I think these are good choices (even if my list would be completely different):
Some of the other choices to me scream "Let me show you how much I know about musicals and how cultured I am by selecting the most niche example no one knows about but me" . I'm not sure that's way to convince people to love musicals.
Also, even what I think the 'good' choices rely on a certain level of music and emotional sophistication to appreciate. For true musical 'nonbelievers' who have limited awareness of music or cannot accept the fundamental premise that music can be used to convey a character emotion or forward a story, I don't think the list is suitable at all. Instead, the list should be specific to the individual trying to bridge their specific issues (e.g. relatable musical genre or concept of how the songs are used that can help them suspend disbelief).
