An interesting article from Gay.com about NBS. What's this about a sequel?
"Naked Boys" celebrates the start of sixth year

Posted: 8/4/04 at 1:38pmI've never seen the show, and can't comment on the possibility of sequel, but would anyone recommend the recording? I've been hesitant to purchase it for a while, but I've been thinking about it recently. Is it worth it? Or is it one of those recordings that can only be enjoyed after having seen the show? Thanks!

Posted: 8/4/04 at 1:49pmOh yes, get the recording! It's wonderful; the songs are hilarious and occasionally very moving. Think of it as an Avenue Q-esque recording, except mostly piano-bar numbers and no narrative that strings them all together (the show is a revue celebrating male nudity). It's a fantastic recording; the melodies are strong and memorable, and the CD has great replay value.

Hmm...really? I thought I saw it a few weeks ago in a store. I don't remember which one. Guess I missed the boat on this one
If I happen to see it somewhere I'll definitely buy it.

Posted: 8/4/04 at 2:59pmThere are two recordings. They are mostly the same, but one song from the first recording "Stripped" was thankfully cut from the show. The second recording includes the far superior added song "The Entertainer" as well as a poor dance mix of "Window to Window". The creators also added songs for regional productions that were never recorded including "Pizza Boy" for Chicago and "Everything's Bigger in Texas" for Houston.

For the most part they are. However in at least one number--"Bliss of a Bris" some of the performers wear costumes.
Have you read my article about this show? It's here on BWW.

Pretty much. There are one or two numbers that are dressed ("Robert Mitchum," I think), and one or two numbers that involve disrobing or putting on clothes, but the rest is pretty much complete nudity.
It's not a big deal, though; the novelty dies off after the first number, and then what you enjoy most is the wittiness of the show and the charisma of the performances!

That's what I meant when I said the "charisma of the performances."
