I know this is a departure from theatre, but this is quite unusual and magnificent.
Just wondering if any of you New York residence have seen the Antony Gormley exhibition around Madison Square Park, of Naked Men Standing? I will certainly be checking this out when I come over at the weekend.

I've seen them. Pretty disconcerting at first, but really cool.

Awesome! I loved Event Horizon, whenever I walked around the South Bank, I felt like I was being watching by a load of suicidal naked men. :3

I can see one from my office window.
Actually, a colleague saw one directly across from her 9th-floor window and shrieked, not knowing what it was.

The article on NBCnewyork.com is linked, oddly, on DrudgeReport.comm which is a conservative-based media site.
The NBC article features a survey that shows how New Yorkers feel about the statues:
41% Bored
22% Intrigued
13% Laughing
12% Furious
7% Sad
5% Thrilled
The Times offers this map:

"Mr. Gormley said in a follow-up interview by phone. “I never wanted to freak anyone out. If people think of death and suicide, it’s a sad reflection on evolution. This is meant to be an amazing celebration of New York.”
Is this guy brain dead? How could he not realize that people would think these things are people who are about to jump, because that's just what they look like.
