I know that there are a lot of tough names to figure out how to pronounce, just by reading them.
How do you pronounce Barrett Foa's first name?

The name "Barrett" is of Irish origins; it wouldn't have a French pronunciation.

Wouldn't Barrett have the upside down "e" or "eh" pronounciation on the vowel of the first syllable rather than the sound in "bear/bare?"
Anyone know how he himself says it?

Posted: 11/24/06 at 5:25pmWhat about Alexander Scheitinger? How are the vowels in the first syllable pronounced (like a hard E or I or some combination) and is the G hard or soft? So is it SHY-TIN-JER, SHEE-TIN-JER, SHY-TIN-GER, SHEE-TIN-JER, or something else?

Enjolras = au(n)-johl-ras
j as in s in pleasure.
And, yes, final "s" is pronounced.
And on the other French side:
d'Amboise is dam-bwahz. Unless she says it wrong. Or her name defies French logic. Either way, her papa is dam-bwahz.

"I didn't know if it would be "bear-et" are "buh-ret". Like a hair clip."
That made me laugh so hard. I was talking to someone on the phone a while ago (actually, she's from BWW too) and we were talking about something relating to Broadway and she said "Buh-ret" and I was like "huh?!" and she thought I was kidding because I love Barrett but she didn't realize I didn't understand because she was saying it that way. heh
Anyway, to make it easy- it rhymes with "carrot"
