The minute it is officially announced that she will take this part, I'm ordering my tickets to see it! She is a gorgeous and very talented actress whom I am in love with! Ahhh!

Plus I wouldn't mind seeing The Glass Menagerie -- or Ethan Hawke! Updated On: 4/20/04 at 08:50 PM

The only problem is that Ethan is so much older than her...but I guess he looks pretty young.

Absolutely love that play...I can't wait to see it.

How is Ethan on stage?

I am not an Ethan fan, but he was pretty good in HENRY at Lincoln Center

Portman was wonderful in The Diary of Anne Frank, as was the entire cast of that production.

I'm going to do something I never EVER though I would do.

I am going to admit that I liked most of what Natalie Portman did in THE SEAGULL at the Delacorte. Yes...you can start throwing those rotten vegetables at me now.

Did I think she had the chops to play the last scene? No...not yet. But everything leading up to it enthralled me. A lot of people talk about listening on stage as an actor. And I've never seen a better one than Ms. Portman in her scene with Mr. Kline in the second act. She was enraptured with him and, in turn, I with her. She is stunningly beautiful and is perfectly delicate for the role of Laura.

To say I am excited for this revival is an understatement.

I also am really excited for the revival. It's clearly one of the greatest masterpieces ever written. Can some of you say why you don't like Hawke? I adore some of his work, not to mention Robert Sean Leonard and Miss Lange. FIERCE honey, that's all i can say. It finally should be something we all can look forward to: genuinely awesome casting!

But I won't live alone in a house of regret.

"...you can start throwing those rotten vegetables at me now"

To throw these rotten vegetables at RobbieJ, you need to find him and word on the street is that he will be easily locatable (and ON STAGE) May 6-29 at Manhattan Theatre Source starring as Einstein in Steve Martin's PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE...

But again.. that's just the word on the street...

The only way I wouldn't see Ms. Portman perform is if she was in something that was a conflict during the May 6-29 run of Manhattan Theatre Source's production of Steve Martin's PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE...I couldn't miss my favorite working NY actor in his role as Einstein. He is AMAZING!

...I dont dislike Ethan, I like some of his work...but sometimes I find him ... pretentious. Not in everything, of course. I will say, as much as the Planet went mad for Kline in HENRY, I thought Hawke was the best thing about that production. He was a Firebrand, & really did a good job.

a Firebrand, huh! Sounds great!

BTW: Ethan was originally supposed to play Colonel Travis in "The Alamo" movie (in theaters right now.) He withdrew early on and Patrick Wilson took the part.
