I am planning to go to NYC, one day only, the 21st of December. So that leaves me 2 shows to go see. I really would like to go see Gypsy at 3:00 pm. Now my first question is should I use the discount code that they have on now and buy a front row balcony ticket or should I rush the performance? I probably won't get there when it opens but from what I read after they sell the first row they sell other seats. Should I risk rushing at a busy time of the year?

For the show at night the only shows that are on in the evening that I am interested in are Avenue Q, Chicago, In the Heights, Mary Poppins, Spamalot, Spring Awakening(maybe) and White Christmas.

I do not want to buy expensive tickets. At first I thought about doing the Chicago Rush in the morning but I would like to try out for the White Christmas lottery. Do you think that there will be Chicago rush tickets available an hour before the show begins if I don't win the Lotto? How many names are drawn out in the White Christmas lotto? Should I go see an other show?

What should I do?

Thanks

For Gypsy – definitely try rush first. The box seats and partial view orchestra seats (that they offer after the front row) are much better than the balcony. Even if they sell out of those seats, they’ll give you balcony. So my point is you’ll be guaranteed a rush ticket and you might as well try to get the other seats first rather than buying the balcony seat in advance.

2nd show – out of the ones you mentioned, I’d recommend In the Heights. However, that would probably be more expensive than you’re planning on spending. People have been saying that the White Christmas lotto is easy, so that’s probably worth a shot. A student rush ticket to Spring Awakening might be available at that time, but I don’t think for Chicago.

I'd definitely do Gypsy rush!
Then out of the rest I'd say In The Heights lottery, if you're willing to do it. White Christmas would probably be easier though. I don't really know about rush, sorry!

Do the online Spring Awakening lottery and that way you don't waste your time at the theater and have options.
