As many of you know, I am still recovering from the car accident I had in July. Right now my sacroiliac is of great concern.
I first became familiar with this part of the body through a song lyric which I'm sure was from a Broadway show. No, it isn't the mention it gets in GYPSY ("You can sacrifice your sacro working in a back row"). It was a lyric that didn't abbreviate the word.
My witty chiropractor jokingly suggests that it was from the ill-fated musical called THE CHIROPRACTOR'S DAUGHTER, in with Bernadette Peters played Helen Schmidlapp, but I can't find any reference to that in my Burns Mantle collection.
Any help?

Dollypop, could you be thinking of SOUTH AMERICA, TAKE IT AWAY (sung by Betty Garrett), which has the lyric:
"...my spine's out of whack/ there's a great, big crack/
in the back of my sacroiliac?"
The song is from the Harold Rome revue, "Call Me Mister."

MusicMan, don't know if that's what Dolly's been trying to recall...but I thank you. I've been tossing that word in my head ever since I read the initial posting. I knew it was used in a song but it wasn't coming to me. A cute song it is too.
Cheers!
DP, could your witty chiropractor be pulling your leg AND pulling your leg? I don't find any evidence for the existence of a musical called THE CHIROPRACTOR'S DAUGHTER.

Let's not discuss backs--that can be a sore subject.

Perhaps sacroiliac is mentioned in the lyric to "Them Bones, Them Bones". Still puzzled over this one.
The only mention of sacroiliac I know of is in the Blondie song "Rapture." Not musical theatre, thus not what you're searching for.

While doing a google search, I found out that Sinatra recorded three songs with the word "sacroiliac" in the lyric. However, I can't find what those titles are. Does that ring any bells for you? Sinatra + sacroiliac= ??

That's it!!!!!!! I remember my father playing "The Hucklebuck" many years ago--when I was playing in the bullrushes with my buddy Moses.
