I really really want him to come back to Broadway....I think he'd be great for selling tickets too with the success of "How I Met Your Mother" and "Harold and Kumar."

How about "Harold and Kumar, The Musical?"
I have a theory that he could stand in for Drew Sarich and wear a wig and a fake nose, and no one would notice the difference. (Granted, I like Drew Sarich, and I LOVE NPH.)

Posted: 9/30/08 at 9:46pmNPH was wonderful in ASSASSINS, and I maintain that, had CURTAINS stayed open, he would have been an excellent replacement for David Hyde Pierce.

"I think he'd be great for selling tickets"
Well sure, he's very polite, I'd buy a ticket from him! But with all his talent someone really should put him on stage.

Posted: 9/30/08 at 9:48pmI really liked him as Toby in Sweeney. He has a very expressive face... he's so good at showing shades of emotions. I think Dr. Horrible's brought him a whole new bunch of fans, so now would be a great time for him to do Broadway.

"OH! SARCASM! THAT'S ORIGINAL!"
Neil Patrick Harris, please come back to Broadway. We miss you.

If Neil Patrick Harris comes to Broadway, I will rush to see him regardless of what show he's in.
But unless How I Met Your Mother gets cancelled, he's going to have a hard time getting back to Broadway. With a limited schedule, he could probably only do a non-profit limited run (that could not be extended because of his schedule) or a short run in an already-running show.
When he's done with How I Met Your Mother (which hopefully won't be for a very long time. I LOVE that show.) he should hop on a new musical or revival.

Schmerg_The_Impaler, I was going to mention Dr. Horrible!! So, if you have Neil Patrick Harris withdrawals, go watch those!
I wish they would make more of those!

Posted: 9/30/08 at 10:23pmI know that when he did the tour of Rent, he wasn't as big a name as he is now. But, I have felt that there was a time not that long ago when he did make a name for himself and Rent was stunt casting that I thought he should do Rent on Broadway. Even though it would have been stunt casting, it would have been stunt casting that I would be okay with. Besides, it really wouldn't be like they were dragging in just any famous person to play the role of Mark.

Yeah whenever he has time off from How I Met Your Mother I think it'd be great if he came back to Broadway. Also, I hope that show lasts a long time it's one of my favorites. =]
And speaking of Dr. Horrible, I think it'd be AMAZING on Broadway! They'd just have to make it loner, but definitely with the same cast.

Posted: 9/30/08 at 10:52pmI love NPH! :) I would also love to see "Dr. Horrible" fleshed out a little more and turned into a stage production. I thought it was hilarious and also sweet, and I get the songs stuck in my head all the time. Although I also love "How I Met Your Mother" so, like others have said, I really hope that doesn't end anytime soon. Yay for all the NPH love!

When Rent had its West Coast premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego (before it moved up to LA) I had no idea that NPH was in the cast, that is until I arrived at the theater. Everyone in the foyer keep talking about how the Doggie Howser kid was in it. In fact one of the ushers said, "He may not have the best voice but he makes up for it with his acting."
What can I say? I was amazed not just because of his acting talent (which was spot on) but his vocals as well. This was the same night that Madonna was there too. :)
Anyways --- when they were talking about the RENT movie I thought NPH would have been a great choice of Mark. I know everyone loves themselves some Anthony Rapp but he is a little hard on the eyes (in my opinon). My dreamcast would have included Justin Timberlake as Roger which I know many people would disagree with so I acknowledge my choices for casting are not to everyone's taste.
Also, Wilson Cruz was in the same La Jolla cast too.

Posted: 10/1/08 at 6:46pmI would honestly go to New York and see NPH in just about anything. He was great in Todd and I can't get the score from Dr. Horrible out of my head. The only downside to a possible Broadway return is, of course, the necessity of Barney on HIMYM. Hmmm, if only...

He should host the Tony Awards, since he's a CBS star.
Actually, after seeing them on the Emmys, I'd like to see NPH and Cheno co-hosting.

I suggested Chenoweth and Neil Patrick Harris as Tony co-hosts on the other thread as well. They have so much chemistry, I'd love to see them together for a whole show.
He also has said before that he'd love to do an actual Broadway musical with her. I'd definitely buy that.

Posted: 10/1/08 at 9:09pmYes, he definitely SHOULD host the Tonys. I didn't put that together that he's a CBS star. Why hasn't this happened yet?!

He was recently added to the list of Disney's "Candlelight Processional" guest narrators in December (right before Brian Stokes Mitchell) at Epcot.
Yay !!!
