There's a difference between RING OF FIRE's LED screens and what SUNDAY is doing.
SUNDAY's set is not entirely LED. As I understand it, it's just the painting, which will be shown in creation from start to finish through the course of Act I.

And Ring of Fire was a concert posing as a Broadway musical.
So - in theory - is there anyway I can get my mother a $20 ticket too? So we can sit together?

Of course I find out about the $20 tickets after I get my $30+ tickets. Oh well. I'm just happy I have tickets for this show. February can't get here soon enough.
I have a new crush on Jenna Russell and Daniel Evans after that video.
And can we not compare RING OF FIRE to SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE?

I'M ALL A-QUIVER!
He is absolutely positively RIGHT. There is an entire generation of young theatre fans who simply adore "Sunday in the Park with George" (my hand is raised) who HAVE NOT seen the show and yet hold it (and Sondheim) on an unparalleled pedestal. I cannot even begin to tell you how extraordinarily excited I am for this production... almost as much as I was when "Sweeney Todd" came back to Broadway.
You have to remember, even if it does sound like blasphemy, that so many people today do say: "Sondheim, who?" in conversation. They simply don't know. I was over at my friends' apartment last night and they were actually SINGING the lyrics to "Worst Pies in London" when just one month ago they knew nothing about the musical. (Thanks to the movie).
Though we can't expect a "Hannah Montana" kind of craze, we can certainly hope that current movies and non-stop revivals of Sondheim's work (from "Sweeney Todd" to "Company" to "Sunday") will bring this man's impeccable compositions back to the forefront for a WHOLE NEW generation of theatre fans.
I cannot sing enough praises to Roundabout for bringing this from overseas. I had several friends who saw the Donmar production two summers ago and came back to California just unable to put into words what they had FINALLY been able to see. It is because of THIS revival that they rediscovered the score and the "perfect"-ness of this musical and how it steeply contrasts SO MUCH of what is being offered to this generation.
Wonderful video and I am just aching to see Jenna and Daniel!

I haven't seen the show live, but it's one of my absolute favorites. I am so thankful that a DVD of the OBC production exists, so I could be introduced to this amazing show.
Thank God for Roundabout Theater! I am so glad they are bringing this production to Broadway, so I can finally see it live. Daniel and Jenna look genuinely excited about this production. I can’t wait to see it.
