I want to personally invite you all to join us for my new weekly radio talk show "Broadway and More". You can get a free live feed by going to my website at www.HenryFarnam.com/radio. We invite you to listen in but also to JOIN the show by coming to our live chatroom during the shows or by calling into us directly (directions for calling in are on the website). The show is called "Broadway and More" because Broadway is my first love and so we'll be featuring interviews with Broadway stars as well as many of the great performers that make up the ensemble casts on Broadway and in national tours. A good portion of my professional performing career has been on the stage, but in the recent years I've made my living as an actor on TV and as a recording artist and concert performer - so I've met and worked with some extraordinary people that will also be joining us on the show from time to time. Upcoming guests include: a very special evening with Kathryn Crosby (Sunday July 3rd); Joni Robbins, well known for her many cartoon character voices, but also was a close personal friend of Judy Garland during the latter years of her life, so the show will be dedicated to the memory of Judy with lots of great stories about her (as well as your questions) (Sunday July 10th); and Mike Westmore - Academy Award winning makeup designer (All Star Trek Movies and all Star Trek TV Series, Rocky, Mask, Raging Bull...the list goes on and on) as he tells us about his legendary career and being part of the Westmore family makeup dynasty. From his father, who designed the makeup for Gone With the Wind to his uncles and grandfather who created some of the most famous makeup designs in Hollywood history, including the most famous monster movie makeup designs at Universal Studios. Mike is a fascinating man and after a lifetime as one of Hollywood's premiere makeup designers, the possibilities for questions and stories are endless (Sunday July 17th). Showtimes are: 9 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. Pacific, with replays of selected clips available at my website. I hope you'll join us!

You should make a station on Podcasts, the new iTunes radio store, so that it can be more accesible and available on iPods.

Thanks Larry! That's a great idea - and my radio station does provide Pod-casting capability. I personally don't know that much about it, but I'll be sure to get my staff onto it before this week's broadcast so that it's available for listening on Ipod. Thanks for the great suggestion and I hope you'll join us on Sundays for the show!

I also want to invite everyone to post on my website's message board about the shows or upcoming guests or about the guests you'd like us to have on the show. There is a list of links on the left side of the main radio page (www.HenryFarnam.com/radio), one of which is for the message board. I hope you all know just how IMPORTANT it is to the future of live theater that people not only go to SEE the shows and buy the CD's, but also that all of the great people like YOU are taking time to post on boards like this one about Broadway. Keep posting here and post at my site and any other sites that are out there to show the world that live theater MATTERS and that people care about it. Believe me, the industry executives and the people with the money to invest DO pay attention to things like a message board. They may not have time to read every post, but they do see how active the fans are, which gives them even more reasons to keep the shows running and to invest in new ones. As long as they see the interest and feel that the interest will turn into ticket sales, they'll keep investing, which means more live theater! That's one of the main goals of my radio show - to get even more people excited about seeing live theater. But it's also to connect the fans to the stars and to give the fans a voice to talk about the incredible subject of Broadway and live theater. Plus we're going to have a lot of fun along the way - and you never know what incredible actors might be sneaking in to lend their voices to some of the funny characters that come and go during the show.

I have to say, one of the things that I've loved about doing this show is to see how it's opening up new audiences to Broadway and live theater. Much of my current fan base is from my appearances on TV shows such as Star Trek Enterprise, Judging Amy, Crossing Jordan and others, and from my personal connections to many of the stars on the NBC soaps "Passions" and "Days of Our Lives", and also from my CD release....and I've been able to open up them up to not only learning about Broadway, but to LOVE it as well. Let's face it, these shows won't exist if people aren't buying tickets. Those of us who love Broadway and live theater are already going and seeing these shows. But I've been very excited to have a chance to get a lot of new people excited about live theater and every time I get a letter or an e-mail or have someone call into the show to say that they've gone and seen their first show and loved it because they heard me talking about it, I feel like it's one more WIN for live theater! Talk radio is a very powerful tool because it goes beyond just playing the great music from shows. By talking about these shows and by sharing our stories of SEEING these great shows and by having the people who are IN them come to join us on the show, people listening will get more excited about going and seeing the shows for themselves. I'm incredibly passionate about doing whatever I can to help fill those seats at the theaters, not only on Broadway but around the country as the shows tour (and at the great regional theaters that the stars love to perform at). And in some small way, I'm hoping that my show will help to get people interested in all of these options for seeing live theater. Not to mention, it is so much fun to talk about the subject of Broadway and getting to hear the great stories that the stars and the other performers have to tell. I've been so lucky to have been sitting backstage or on film/tv sets in between takes and having these incredible conversations and hearing these amazing stories and I've always thought that the fans would love to be part of these conversations and hear these stories as well. And as I always say "don't just think about it - DO IT!" So I hope you'll join us! And thanks to Larry for his response to this post, we'll get the podcasting up and running and who knows, maybe even soon we can become officially affiliated with Broadway.com and offer the show here as well. It would be great for my show to be in the company of the great radio shows that Broadway.com currently offers! Come and join us and help us to build up the momentum so that we can continue to get the great stars of stage and screen that you most want to have on the show. And lets fill those seats at the theaters so Broadway can continue to thrive!! Thanks everyone!

What a GREAT attitude and mission you are on! I'll be there for sure and I hope your show does SO great! I saw your picture on your site and you're really hot and I heard some music from your CD's there too and you have such a beautiful voice. I hope you are going to be on Broadway too and not just hosting a radio show! There can be so much negativity sometimes with people complaining about all that they hate on Broadway and with the actors and I always think yeah go ahead keep complaining and maybe someday there won't be any broadway for you to complain about. Good thing someone like you is doing something positive for a change and trying to support it all instead of just cutting it all down. Keep up the great work!
