Ok, I wasn't going to get involved in this, but after reading the posts, I feel like I had to - not to trash anyone's opinion, but just to add another perspective on it. Take it or leave it. Above all, though, remember that they were told to keep things personal by the Tony's at the Tony luncheon. I thought I'd chime in on this thread. I totally respect your right to your opinion. Just a couple of thoughts for you: Oprah's money has given work and jobs to MANY people in the Broadway community - both in front and behind the scenes. So has Disney's money. Without that money, shows tend to die quickly because Mr. and Mrs. Joe America don't know what they are or why they should spend $110 a ticket on it (except for those rare cases where there is SO much buzz about it that they HAVE heard ...

It was just a subject line. Not an opinion about who the contenders are. I really try to keep the subject lines down, but for people who might want to actually talk about the subjects we're focusing on during the show, the subject line may be the only way they know that the show even exists. I actually agree with you 100%. But my issue isn't that Fosca finally changes, I'm glad she does. But I almost wish he found his great passionate love for her AFTER she backs away from the manipulation. I never laughed at her. I saw the depth of her character, especially as played by the BRILLIANT Donna Murphy. But you brought up a really good point as to what my problem eventually became with her - the manipulation. I just don't think love should be manipulated. I never laughed at her or even hated her.
