This production was actually honored by AEA for diversity. While diverse, it was not as diverse as the previous national tour or the Disney television production. I really want to know the new tour cast already.

Hey, if they hired Carly Ray Jepsen, they might as well hire a reality star. Oi, vey!

I can picture (and stomach) Nene as the Stepmother. As the fairy godmother, HECK NO. I much rather want to see Sherri Shepherd in this show because she, at least, has acting experience. If only Whitney was still here...

But, yeah Keke could be a good Cinderella. I would rather see her than Carly. Esepecially because I grew up with her.

EDIT: is Vanessa Williams busy? She would be perfect as the Fairy Godmother!

I love Vanessa Williams, but vocally the Fairy Godmother she is not.

^ Having just seen her this spring in AROUND MIDNIGHT, I can regrettably vauch (sp??) for her not having the voice for the Fairy Godmother anymore. Sad to see, as I was a big fan of her witch in WOODS and Aurora in KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMAN.

I'm going to suggest Loretta Devine for any role purely 'cause I want her back on Broadway. I'll take her as The Prince at this stage.

What about Solange Knowles as Cinderella? She's fantastic and I think would be a big draw. Also, Marin Mazzie could play the Godmother since Bullets is closing?

Marin Mazzie sure makes more sense than NeNe Leakes. You need serious pipes to play the Fairy Godmother.

For the record....Nene and Sherri are being considered for "step mother" and NOT Fairy God Mother. This is fact!!!!

Nancy's contract is only through September 7th. It was stated in the original statement. And announcing a replacement like Nene or Sherri will start a good advance for the fall months.

I think it would be inetresting to see Bernadette Peters reprise jeer role as the stepmother. She already did it in the Brandy version. She could also play the fairy Godmother.

Just to clarify again, Victoria Clark is not leaving. The replacement is for "Stepmother".
