I'm not being mean I'm being truthful I recall and episode not to long ago where she couldn't read a script for something and that's what she sounded like. The people around her had to tell her what the words where. It's just the truth I don't like being mean.

ok Corine, sure Kristen, she is ONLY 36, she is great but is that not stretching it a bit??!! I do agree that Jimmy Marsden would make an incredible Link, and since he did x-men with Hugh Jackman, why not Hugh for Corny, Jimmy is 30 though.....hmmmmm

Well, Marissa may be able to pull off "teenager" on stage, but will the camera be that kind to a 31 year old woman? If you are going to cast someone who is not age appropriate, may I submit for your consideration MISS MINDY COHN? Star power AND marquee valued name...what a combo.

Kristen looks 12 and no it is not stretching it she does not look any older then Marissa. Go and see her in Wicked.
She can get away with a teenager and looks younger then all of the Hairspray cast.
She is about four feet tall and is very youthful.

Yes being in tv production Marissa, Kerry and Kristin would all pass for teenagers. They all look like teenagers and with a good camera man it will work.
Better to have strong singers in the roles then teenagers that can't perform.
A good example- They got Richard Gere for Chicago because of star quality but the man did not do half the job of Brent Barrett. Listening to him sing made me want to cry. Brent is a better Flynn, more attractive and the voice of a god.
I hope the film version of Hairspray uses people who can sing.
