Nope. As far as I know the set is the same. It was at Arena, and I don't think they're planning major changes.
I despise the new artwork. Oh well...at least the show itself is fantastic. This doesn't get my hopes up for a good marketing campaign though...time will tell I guess.

Too bad. The material is cold enough without an ugly cold set to stare at. The show is crying out for some emotional warmth, which could truly put the show over the top as a serious contender, but the metal poles and brash lighting simply add nothing but a harsh background to an already harsh show.
Did you see it at Arena? The emotional tone is completely different from 2ST. It is a much stronger show than it was.
Oops...I was talking about Second Stage. I'm curious to see how it has changed. I thought the material was good, but it just needed more warmth and some grounding. But the core of the show was impressive and the performances were mostly excellent.
I really recommend checking it out now. :) It really has found its voice and has so much heart.

I don't think the changes from 2ST and Arena are that vast. I mean, I think if you sat through it again it wouldn't come off as a new show. It's still cold, and all those things you listed. I think it has some great moments, but then some really just cheesy moments. And - I know I've said this before - but I don't see the hype surrounding Ripley. I feel like she plays the part with a wink towards the audience. But we'll see, maybe things have tightened a bit. And I'm sure some things are being changed about the show for Broadway. I mean, it's a different stage, and more money.
Also, I don't get the musical notes in the "logo" - it's not like this is a show about a musical family. It's just a family that happens to be in a musical, right?
