They put up complete tracks from the new CD on the website. If you're on the fence about purchasing it, and I highly recommend it, you can listen to a few tracks now. All you have to do is launch the music player in the sights and sounds section.

I purchased Oliver! on iTunes recently. It was the London Theatre & Orchestra Cast and it cost only $5.99. I don't know much about it but the CD was released in 2009.
I actually think it sounds better than the music on oliverthemusical.com.
I am very pleased to hear that it's Laurence on the recording!

I'd be more inclined to get excited, if they'd sell it on Amazon.

Wow, that rendition of "As Long As He Needs Me" is quite beautiful!
I ordered it from the UK Amazon site. It's quite a good recording of a stunning production.
Oliver at Amazon UK
They probably won't sell it on Amazon for a while and even then it will be an import. Amazon.co.uk is just fine and they let you use your Amazon.com password. It's really easy, I don't see what the deal is. It's worth it.
When I ordered from Amazon.co.uk, I found the pricing to be cheaper than the typical Amazon.com import pricing anyway. And I received the CD very quickly.

Is this the one with Mr. Bean?

Piragua-
Yes.
And, I have always had problems ordering from Amazon.co.uk...it always gets lost in transit, or delayed, or something asinine.
That happened to me once when I ordered the Zorro cast recording, but they sent me a separate copy free of charge. The woman I talked to was really nice about it and super helpful.

^ I've ordered from them 4 times. It's happened 3 of them.
Anyone know where you can buy & download it? It isn't on itunes, and I don't want to have to wait for it to ship...
I still say it's worth any hassle. It's a great recording and the actual CD is exquisitely put together. It comes with a 30 page full color booklet with extensive notes from Cameron Mackintosh and tons of production photos. Which I'm finding to be increasingly rare these days.
Husk, Dress Circle has it too. Have you had issues with them before?

I'm still bitter that Jodie Prenger won....she's like watching paint dry.
But I'll probably get the recording eventually.
Well, I can't comment on her performance visually, but I think she's a pretty great Nancy on record. She's very emotional and very defeated and I think it comes across very well on CD. Of course it helps that it was recorded live and not having to be recreated in a studio without an audience present.
Thanks, CATSNYrevival! Great recording.
I loved Jodie Prenger. She was great in Oliver and she was my pick to win I'd Do Anything from the first round of auditions. I didn't think any of the other girls were right for Nancy, especially Jessie (though my friend liked her in A Little Night Music). The only other girl I thought could do any justice to the role would be Sarah and I was happy to see her in the production as the strawberry girl in Who Will Buy.

Ok, I got it from Dress Circle (AMAZING transaction, I highly approve).
Is anyone else really confused by the packaging? I mean, it's an interesting case, the liner notes, CD and tray liner are gorgeous, but the physical case annoys me.
I was confused at first too. The first time I received a CD packaged like that was for the new London Palladium cast recording of the Sound of Music and then the remastered Palladium Joseph cast recording. It seems to be a West End thing. The only explanation I can come up with as to why it might be better is that you don't have to "slide" the booklet out and so it reduces the amount of wear on the front cover which is actually sort of cool. I have lots of CD booklets with that almost unavoidable "line" of wear on the cover. Other then that I have no idea as to it's purpose. Updated On: 4/9/09 at 04:54 PM

Who's Oliver and the Dodger in this recording?
I really wish this production would transfer!
Laurence Jeffcoate is Oliver and Ross McCormack is the Artful Dodger.
