Hey all,
The London production of The ScottsBoro Boys will get a cast recording, to be released in mid-2015. For those that saw the show Off-Broadway, for which there is a cast recording, and saw the show on Broadway, were there significant changes to the show and/or score? Were there further changes for London?

I have never seen the show, but am very impressed with the cast recording and score. Should one own two recordings of this show?

To a casual listener, the Off-Broadway recording does preserve a lot of what went on to the Guthrie, Broadway, regional and London productions, but there are both small and major changes to a number of songs, "Commencing in Chattanooga," "Make Friends With The Truth," and "Never Too Late," in particular. "It's Gonna Take Time" was of course, cut. A lot of the dialogue that is on the album was changed as well. It would be nice to have a new or updated album, reflecting the current show.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

Joshua Henry is not part of the London cast. Why would he be on the recording?

I am aware of that. I'm just sad the Broadway company didn't get a recording.

I agree. It's a shame Josh Henry has never recorded the music from this show. If he ever feels the need to do so, I look forward to a solo album from him.
