Well I think we should wait until more shows open to decide this.
Last year at this time - people were expecting BROOKLYN to be the next huge hit. funny isn't it?

HA! It's hilarious...ahem...anyway, bklyn has a much bigger following than you think.
the odd couple, but i'm kinda excited about the wedding singer ebcause stephen lynch is hot.
BKLYN didn't really catch on here, but it really caught on at my school after we went up to see it. Many theatre fans think it is genius.
How disillusioned they are. Sad.
I'm excited about "The Wedding Singer" and "Sweeney Todd" both. I don't really know enough about the coming season to predict a BIG show.
What was the BIG show from this year? Spamalot? Piazza?
I thought it would be Little Women, personally.

I think Lestat is going to be pretty big, but its WAY too early to tell - we haven't seen a single one of the hyped shows yet.

i would love for princesses to be the next big hit, but i don't know if it will get there...
I hope Sondheim retools Bounce and brings it to Broadway!

sondheim doesn't need to retool it... his score was fine, parts superb... but the book... ugh. you just never cared about a single character.
I especially love the Overture and the title song and "Opportunity" (I believe.) When Sondheim actually writes an Overture it is always fantastic!

Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest musical THE WOMAN IN WHITE starts previews on October 28 and opens on November 17 at the Marquis Theatre. I have seen the show in London and have listened to the OCR a number of times. I can't wait to see it again, this time on Broadway. I hope the major cast transfers with the show - Maria Friedman, Michael Ball, Martin Crewes, Jill Paice, and Angela Christian. All fine actors and great singers!
It has a dramatic story set in Victorian times and a wonderful musical score from Andrew! Also, it uses innovative staging with computer projections to move the story along ( sounds like a contradiction due to the theme and setting, but it works wonderfully well).
I hope they announce ticket sales soon.

The Woman in White will never work on Broadway. It's so disappointing. Being a hard-core Friedman fan I was SO looking forward to it, but it's a mess. Never seen such a dismal finale in my life. And those women keep falling on their knees like crazy "I have a secret, a precious secret......." and HOOPLA there they go again.
It might be greatly improved for New York, but if it is anything like London it will play for 3 months.
Also I don't mind Lloyd Webber re-writing his own material, but this is ridiculous!
