According to Hayley Podschun's (who plays Tammy in the Hairspray film) Movie Set Diary on Broadway.com, she informs that there are some new songs in Hairspray. One of them that we already know about is "Ladies' Choice" sung by Link Larkin (Zac Efron) which replaces the Broadway version's The Madison. Another replaces "Nicest Kids in Town (reprise)" is called "The New Girl in Town" sung by the Councilettes (including Podschun and Brittany Snow who plays Amber Von Tussle). Check out her diary at:

I'm very sad about the big doll house, it was one of my favorites!
I can almost guarantee that the "Nicest Kids reprise' is still in the film. I am pretty sure it was in the footage I saw a few weeks ago. So I dont think "The new girl in town" replaces anything.
Am i wrong or in The Roots book isn't there mention of a song called "The new girl in town" which was dropped from the musical after it had been tossed around from the white girls, black girls etc...
but this is cool, I actually hadn't heard that this was added to the movie.
that little journal was so cute.

That was an exciting read.
I really hope this film is fabulous because if it ends up sucking my will to live like Phanotm of the Opera and Rent did, I'll cry.
it's gonna be pretty hard to botch this movie with all these big stars in it...but we shall see
Holy Moley! I'm so excited! I thought Ladies' Choice was taking the spot of It Takes Two, one of my faves...but it's not!!! :) I seriously can't wait for this movie!
