I dont mean to sound rude or offensive but if you still
feel the need to re-review this show after 2 years and 2million bad reviews.. you might want to evaluate what you do in your spare time....go see a great show and review that...I do love the way you break it down...do it with another show I would love to read you break down another show...I am just really sick of Spiderman reviews..btw I saw the original and didnt hate it..(music sucked acting agree was not great but the flying was really cool)

Hi Bryan, thanks for your reply.

I'm actually English and my last visit to New York was in 2009 when I was treated to shows of the calibre of In The Heights and Next to Normal. Even The Little Mermaid was a world class production in comparison. Last week was my first opportunity to see the show and therefore review it from an compulsive English theatregoer's perspective, with much of my readership falling within that demographic.

The reason for the in-depth analysis is, as a neutral party and someone who reviews all kinds of theatre and live performance as both a patron and a guest, if my review is relevant to one person who chooses a better show on their holiday, it is worthwhile - I had an absolute blast writing the analysis and review. I often think of it as therapy New Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark Review and Critical Analysis

Thanks again for your reply and taking the time to read and respond.

Best, Harry

Well put, Harry, and enjoyed your show analysis. For the record, although I myself found SPIDER-MAN more befitting a theme park than Broadway, every friend I've had visit NYC with tween children (especially boys) looking for a fun family event (rather than quality theatre) has had a great time at the show. I've stopped trying to argue with that — it has its audience, and it meets their needs.

Bryan2, the arrogance in your request for a poster to curtail their subject matter on a public forum to only what interests you personally is hilarious. Why did you choose to click on a thread entitled "New Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark Review and Critical Analysis" if that doesn't interest you? Perhaps you're the one who should be evaluating what you do in your spare time.

I saw this show last summer with my 7 year old (ie. already re-vamped) and quite enjoyed it. I like how both an adult and a child could enjoy. I won't say it's the best recording, but there are some songs that I downloaded. And personally, I like reading reviews now that I saw it to see what others have to say. Thanks Harry, for the detailed review.
