Sadly Aaron is the weakest link in this chain. His solo are weak and his vocals range doesnt really cut it singing these type of songs. He is a great singer but rock-ish type of songs are not in his wheelhouse at all. Just a question? Does the POSING get repetitive and boring , Cats in itself is repetitive musically so I cant understand how this sustains interest after the first 10 or 15 minutes of being wowed by the moves. The version of MEMORY is spectacular , I was surprised how good it was sung. I am curious if this is just something people love of just feel they have to love to seem cool...thanks for any responses. I will never understand the fascination with Ben Platt. He sounds like he is yodeling when he sings and other than his Dad having WICKED money behind him he is an average talent in every sense of the word. Rachel can crank , her voice is special, but I want EVITA with sets not the stripped down underwear version we are going to get!

I think Audra McDonald as Rose was one of the worst performances I have seen in my life. Overacted , horribly sung and needed a straight jacket. Yes he inhales through his nose and then his eyes bug out. His voice is unreal...so great but I cant watch him because he puts his chin into his neck and his eyes bug out like he is going to have a seizure . I know it must make him sound as great as he does but I find it so distracting for some reason..(stupidly but I do lol so dont start attacking me lol)

Funny you said this. When I saw Funny Girl with Lea was the first time I noticed that type of breathing before a big note. Now I see it all the time. It must be a way of getting better air into you lungs ...and is much less noticeable than drawing in with an open mouth

Tonatiuh was incredible in this movie. He is being overlooked because of all the hatred for JLO as is Diego Luna who was also very good.and to be honest she was pretty good in the part that required her to basically overact and she sang and danced really well as far as I was concerned, I am a big advocate for the musical, having seen it 5x and loved ithe musical. I went to see this today, Having seen Chita 4x and Maria Conchita once ...I had very low expectations. Honestly I really loved it. I loved the 2 leading men , they were incredible and when they went into the "Hollywood musical" scenes it felt like we were watching an old 30s/40s musical. (which was what they wanted I know) . I went to see the incredibly great JUST IN TIME yesterday and what should have been a walk in the park became a walk all over 50th street. I was accompanied by a friend who is 82 years old and uses a cane for assistance. We have been to many theaters and we always get access early due to the handicap and just because the staff at most theaters are so gracious. Listening to the soundtrack now...wow did they suck the life out of the broadway orchestrations. I am surprised how dull the songs sound and even Renee seems bored one the recording.Angourie Rice has no voice at all. Has she ever sung before ? I am shocked at how weak her vocals are. Just very dissapointed, I was so looking for this :(
