Re: JUST IN TIME 5.0 - Nicholas Christopher
Race is not a significant theme of Just In Time, so the race of the actor playing Bobby Darin doesn't matter.Correct. People who have an issue with this are the same people who had an issue with Bad Bunny performing at the Superbowl or who blamed the Democrats for the government shutdown. We all know what that means.....fuq em. Race is a theme when it is a semi autobiographical musical about a real person . Would you feel the same way if it were a musical about Della Reese staring Lea Michele...
Re: JUST IN TIME 5.0 - Nicholas Christopher
A very talented man but this to me is like Justin Timberlake playing MJ in MJ.. the musical. Bobby was an Italian kid from NYC who fought his way to fame , and this was a huge part of his being. Makes no sense at all. to be honest
Upcoming Japanese production of GYPSY renamed as ROSE (Update: no longer)
This really has gotten so out of hand . IT IS GYPSY end of story ...stop this
Official: Jamie Lloyd's EVITA to open on Broadway in Spring 2027

Deaf West Revival of Whistle Down the Wind
Having seen the show In London when it originally ran and the US tour in Philly, I can say I loved the London version very much. I went in thinking this is crap and was extremely touched but the show and the music and the performances. The Score to me was really great and different with the blend of ALW beauty and the harsh rock songs made it very interesting The set was very Sunset with the two tiers and was crazy impressive. I liked the tour but the theater was empty and had no energy which...
CHESS 2025 Broadway Cast Recording Thread
Sadly Aaron is the weakest link in this chain. His solo are weak and his vocals range doesnt really cut it singing these type of songs. He is a great singer but rock-ish type of songs are not in his wheelhouse at all. One Night in ,,.is slow and dull and his Pity the child doesnt really reach the depth that others (castoff especially) have. The rest of the cast is special. Lea is perfect here (In an a huge Judy Kuhn fan so I have to black out her voice in my head lol) and Hannah is great, Chr...
CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Previews
Just a question? Does the POSING get repetitive and boring , Cats in itself is repetitive musically so I cant understand how this sustains interest after the first 10 or 15 minutes of being wowed by the moves. The version of MEMORY is spectacular , I was surprised how good it was sung. I am curious if this is just something people love of just feel they have to love to seem cool...thanks for any responses. I want to see this so bad to see for myself
Ben Platt & Rachel Zegler - THE LAST FIVE YEARS (NYC/LA)
I will never understand the fascination with Ben Platt. He sounds like he is yodeling when he sings and other than his Dad having WICKED money behind him he is an average talent in every sense of the word. Rachel can crank , her voice is special, but I want EVITA with sets not the stripped down underwear version we are going to get!
Unpopular Opinions
I think Audra McDonald as Rose was one of the worst performances I have seen in my life. Overacted , horribly sung and needed a straight jacket. I love bootlegs and to the Bootleggers I say thanks!I hate Les Mix...boring , dreary long and slow..I loved Starlight expressTyne Daly was the best Rose ever!!
Has anyone else noticed an increase in “nose breathing” by performers on Broadway?
Yes he inhales through his nose and then his eyes bug out. His voice is unreal...so great but I cant watch him because he puts his chin into his neck and his eyes bug out like he is going to have a seizure . I know it must make him sound as great as he does but I find it so distracting for some reason..(stupidly but I do lol so dont start attacking me lol)

Funny you said this. When I saw Funny Girl with Lea was the first time I noticed that type of breathing before a big note. Now I see it all the time. It must be a way of getting better air into you lungs ...and is much less noticeable than drawing in with an open mouth
This Oscar Season Don’t Forget About ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’
Tonatiuh was incredible in this movie. He is being overlooked because of all the hatred for JLO as is Diego Luna who was also very good.and to be honest she was pretty good in the part that required her to basically overact and she sang and danced really well as far as I was concerned, I am a big advocate for the musical, having seen it 5x and loved ithe musical. I figured I would hate this version. . I was not thrilled by all the cuts to the songs but was actually surprised how much I liked ...
WICKED: One Wonderful Night
WOW someone is angry today. I will always be one to admit I thought the casting of Cynthia and Adrianna was gimmicky and that it would suck, and that 2 parts is a money grab...but I LOVE THEM and love the first movie and cant even imagine it being done any other way. Last night was light and fun and they both make me smile everytime they are together because you cant fake chemistry and they have it in spades....The little kid with Arianna was adorable, even though he looked nervous , which ad...
Evita 2025 London Cast Recording.
No Waltz for Che and Evita?? why why whythe song is so important and strangely one of my favorites from the score
Jennifer Lopez to Star in KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN Film
I went to see this today, Having seen Chita 4x and Maria Conchita once ...I had very low expectations. Honestly I really loved it. I loved the 2 leading men , they were incredible and when they went into the "Hollywood musical" scenes it felt like we were watching an old 30s/40s musical. (which was what they wanted I know) . JLO did a great job and was far better than what I was anticipated. She sang well (with or without assistance , I really dont know or care) and was being overdramatic lik...
CHESS Previews
Please not Rachel in Evita for the win! Evita is another no set and people running around in their undies just a rehash of the Sunset presentation down to the HOLDING a note way to long for no reason and paint all over the male lead at the end (blood , paint whatever)
Circle In the Square Staff
Thanks for the phone number. I just thought this is the best place to advise others that may be in the same situation what to expect. From what I can see I am not alone in. what has occurred at this theater.
Circle In the Square Staff
I have sent them a letter . I just wanted others on this site to be aware of this should they have handicapped people with them
Circle In the Square Staff
I went to see the incredibly great JUST IN TIME yesterday and what should have been a walk in the park became a walk all over 50th street. I was accompanied by a friend who is 82 years old and uses a cane for assistance. We have been to many theaters and we always get access early due to the handicap and just because the staff at most theaters are so gracious. Yesterday I did the usual , went up to the front of the line and asked where the handicapped people should go to get entrance. The MIS...
