After the renaming of the Foxwoods to the Lyric Theatre. I was thinking what goes on at the New Victory Theatre? I know a lot of children's theatre plays there, but why doesn't it get rented out for Broadway shows? Is it under 500 seats, or was there some agreement made during the "New 42nd Street" development?

I believe it is purposely 499 seats. It was established to emphasize the importance of children's theater.

In another post, I mentioned that I saw the Fiasco Company's Measure for Measure at the New Victory last night and fell in love with that theater all over again. Amazing that with two balconies that it only has 499 seats. That explains why it felt so intimate. I'm so glad it didn't get torn down!
